Meow sketeer at a simple glance seem's to be...basic. Sure, he has a charming design. Handsome to some, or if you're really down bad......oh dear.
Seem's like a normal, typical fest, right?....right...?
WRONG.
Meow sketeer is a bit more in depth of a character, a bit more then what Most people know.
FIRST FORM
In Meow sketeer's first form, D'artanyan. Who i will be referring to him as from here on out. He's clearly much younger, and a child. Possibly more naive. Labelled as unaware of his own strength. And implied to have joined the battle cats from a young age. A lot to prove of his own worth. He's clearly established to be leading his 3 little basic cats. Although, the cats seem to be guiding him in some way. At this point in his life, he's inexpierenced, his sword wrapped in bandages. Obvious signs of mishandeling.
He's ok.
SECOND FORM
D'artanyan is grown up now, taller. His hat fitting him, the bandana now replaced by a full cloak. His cats now rest on his head. A sign that they aren't helping him as much, taking a backseat.
His sword is fixed up. And he now handles firearms (his gun). He's obviously got some type of muscule in his legs. You can tell by how high he jumps.
He also has mastered some type of elemental attack, showing how a simple set of swipes from his sword, along with his gun. Create a massive explosion.
Something else mentioned that I saw once is that he has a ponytail. Revealed in his animation for a few frames. Wrong again. Simply an animation error.
The most notable feature about D'artanyan is his metallic right arm. From the looks to it, It seems permanently attached.
I believe this arm is clearly the result of something traumatic. Aka, Losing his old arm.
Some might say this could be armor (an interperatation that I've seen). But comparing the two arms frame by frame in animation. Implies his right arm would need to be much skinnier and smaller then his left. Unlikely. Maybe he lost it in battle when he was younger? Perhaps lost it in an attempt to save others? He's stated to "risk it all to protect his comrades", maybe he lost it in saving his own fellow soldiers? Did he succeed? Did he fail? Either way, it's clearly bound to have an effect on his life. Afterwards, he probably had it replaced. Did Ototo fix it for him? it'd make sense logically. Maybe someone else did it. But that's stretching to sections that seem to lack any evidence of.
But from this alone. He's not all well mentally, which can be concluded by the implications of the metallic arm just existing.
From this, I transition to my next segment.
DARKTANYAN (the lover in question)
D'arktanyan is the epicfest counterpart to D'artanyan. Through D'arktanyan, we can see more about Dart's own character. Which can support some of my own theories.
According to the collaboration entry for D'arktanyan, In the game Merc Storia. He personally believes he himself is a manifestation born from the Illusions and Traumas of Dartanyan. Below is the merc storia entry translated by google (may be unreliable)
"A black musketeer who will make any sacrifice for justice. His fighting style is cold-hearted, and it is no exaggeration to say that there is no room for niceties. D'Artagnia believes that he is an illusion born from the inner conflict and trauma of the white cat who is his other self. However, he does not talk about his past, and continues to pursue evil alone to this day.".
This little blurb of text says a lot about Dartanyan. Showing just how badly he was affected by whatever trauma he possibly went through. To the point of manifesting a Darker self. Who seems of have gone through his own traumas. Going from a happy go lucky feminine man to much more masculine, Darker, bandaged up form.
Case in point, Dart is a traumatized Individual. Who has a lot more to his character then it seems at the surface.
TLDR: Dart probably is not ok, and is way more in depth of a characte then people think.
Probably stuff I missed, likely plotholes too. Might try to adress it.
