Like Tackey and Hackey before him, Ackey's attacks can easily snipe your important support units from afar. His health is actually among the lowest of his variants, but he has a Shield that can tank almost nine times as much and could regenerate once. The problems don't end here, as Ackey's attack is split into three rapid hits that get progressively weaker but can occasionally freeze your cats in place. Due to the multi-hit, he approximately has a 66% chance of freezing any cats he hits.
Strategy[]
Depending on the stage in which Ackey appears, it may be worth trying to get a powerful attacker in his range by having said attacker be approached by Ackey while the meatshield line is dangerously close to said attacker. This isn't easy to achieve given the frontline pressure, but it's always worth trying to exploit any openings. A much less risky way to deal with him is to use short-ranged cats, as anything with less than 200 range will easily reach his blind spot, if they can get past the attack. Short-ranged Shield Piercers such as a level 32 Supercar Cat can instantly kill an unbuffed Ackey and easily rush into his blind spot.

Trivia[]
His Japanese name, Devil Katsuya, is seemingly a mash-up of Kazuya and Tatsuya, twin brothers of the baseball manga Touch, which is also referenced by Tackey's Japanese name and description.
Just like Tackey's Japanese description, Ackey's mirrors the character of Tatsuya, a high-school baseball player who rose to glory to continue his deceased brother's legacy. But where Tatsuya's brother died in a traffic accident, Ackey's twin's death was purely his own doing.
Devil Katsuya may also be a reference to Tekken antagonist Devil Kazuya.
Ackey's multi-hit is misleading; while the animation has three bursts, all three attacks are grouped within the first explosion.
