Strategy/Usage[]
Normal/Evolved Form[]
These forms are useless by design. Similarly to the other Ancient Eggs, this unit is not meant to be used before its True Form.
True Form[]
Haniwa Cat is a slow anti-Traitless meatshield that serves the exact same purpose of an Eraser Cat, but with better health against Traitless and lower cost. As such, its use is very limited, though it has a very valuable use against threats like R.Ost, Li'l and Manic Cats, considering that all of them (barring Bird Cat) are Traitless, and that their stages primarily feature Traitless enemies, with a few exceptions. Though its niche against Traitless is great, it cannot be said the same against Behemoths in general, its health is not high enough to withstand attacks much better than the faster traditional option, not to mention the other traits that would inevitably pose a threat. Against Traitless Behemoths such as Wild Doge, Cumulus Gallus and Elephantidae Papaou, Haniwa will stall them to almost a near halt, although you have to account for other traited enemies. It works best against Traitless-only armies that do not feature Croakley, Henry and especially Mr. Mole.

Catfruit Evolution[]
Appearance[]
- Normal Form: An egg-shaped object covered in soil and vegetation.
- Evolved Form: Cleaning it up has revealed its true coloration. It now looks like some sort of futuristic capsule, with an X-like symbol engraved in the middle. Some soil still clings to the bottom, above which there are four black dots, two on each side.
- True Form: A clay cat shaped like a haniwa figure. Attacks by spinning.

Trivia[]
- Haniwa Cat is based on a haniwa, which were clay statues that were buried with the dead.
- Since it attacks by spinning, it could also be a reference to the haniwa-like gyroids from the Animal Crossing series; the name "Gyroid" is derived from the word gyrate, meaning "rotate".
- Haniwa Cat may also be based on Cat Haniwa from PONOS' discontinued game Dig! Dig! HANIWA!
- Strangely, unlike the other Ancient Eggs, it and Ancient Egg: N005's names did not have colons when they were first released. The colons were later added in Version 12.3.
- Visually, Haniwanwan is an enemy version of Haniwa Cat.
