Strategy[]

This stage is a step up from its predecessors, not just in difficulty but in its rewards, with its inclusion of many buffed threats on a timer to overwhelm the player (especially the Aku Gories/Fallen Bears) through sheer DPS alone and little sources for money to begin with. The extreme stage length makes it difficult to advance meaningfully without confronting them. The only strategy is to build a proper defense that will hopefully outlast the onslaught until the main threats have been exhausted.

As with any other XP Stage, Archfiend's Temptation offers large XP drops and already yields a high amount on clear. If you are confident with your strategy, you should definitely bring a Treasure Radar and Cat Jobs. With those those two acounted for, you can get upwards of 5 MILLION XP! Even more if you can spare a slot for Prof. Cat Jobs.

Recommended Units[]

  • Cat Cactus/Cone Cat - Specialist meatshields that boast defensive abilities against Aku threats, with Cat Cactus even having Surge Immunity to dismiss those spawned by Fallen Bear. They both work well with "Research" Effect UP Combos to serve as your primary source of defense, but Cat Cactus is often preferred more due to its easier acquisition and slower speed that forms a thick line of defense.
  • Boulder Cat - Boulder's extreme health makes sure it stays for the brief moment it is there, and Freeze Immunity prevents Cerberus Kids from paralyzing it. It should be used as a supportive option for defense, preferably aided by Research Combos to cover any gaps.
  • Jellycat - Jellycat's high damage and level 5 Wave Attack are essential for any strategy without a Rich Cat. It can be used to gather resources by killing the first Aku Doge and wipe out the swarm of Cerberus Kids, although it is of limited use later on for chip damage due to Aku Gory's presence, as your units will typically destroy the lower-ranged threats.
  • Cat Researcher/Barrel Cat - Both are accessible Shield Piercing specialists that can greatly ease the fight against Fallen Bears with roughly the same consistency. Cat Researcher has the range to stay safe and doesn't rely on having to exploit Long Distance, while Barrel's area attacks, Surge Immunity and Resistance to Aku threats can give it an edge if it manages to destroy several shields at once.
  • Fallen Bear Cat - An elusive unit that will likely only be used for replays, Fallen Bear Cat's Insane Damage to Aku and ability to outrange Aku Gory makes it a prime counter by greatly relieving your frontline pressure. It has no uses elsewhere due to its very low range, and as such ranged attackers are still required.

Recommended Ubers[]

  • Kasli, Daughter of Chaos - Fires off Long Distance attacks from range that generate level 3 Surges to inflict huge damage, with Surge Immunity and great survivability. While you can't solo the stage with Kasli, Daughter of Chaos, she definitely provides enough support to make things easier.
  • Devil Hunter Satoru - A Long Distance crowd-control unit whose main knack is Slow and Knockback with 50% chance to destroy Shields, Satoru is an excellent supportive option for maintaining ground and allowing your other units to catch up. Surge Immunity ensures Fallen Bear can't snipe him, and his very high effective range dramatically expands his effectiveness by hitting and destroying several Shields at once, though beware of his somewhat large blind spot.
