⚫ | In stages like Merciless Onslaught, Ashen Rain and Veggie Friends, he is used as a gimmick, in which an extremely buffed Assassin Bear spawns as soon as an enemy perishes, due to the enemy limit, leading into an instant defeat. This means you need to use the enemy limit to your advantage and keep the enemies alive. |

⚫ | The default Cat Cannon's Wave Attack can kill most Assassin Bears easily, however at higher strength magnifications Assassin Bear can survive it, meaning a certain defeat if he does spawn. Thankfully, overbuffed Assassin Bears are always easy to avoid fighting in the first place, except in Surrealist Sins if you're not careful. Another way to beat him is to use a Cat Unit that can reach and kill the Assassin Bear without dying; options include cats with very few knockbacks and either fast speed or high health (at least against Black Enemies). The higher the speed, the lower the health needed. Glass Cat, Express Cat, Sanada Yukimura, Stone Cat and Manic Jamiera Cat are some examples. |
||
+ | Using Wave Attack Cats/Surge Attack Cats works too, as long as he isn't too buffed. If the Assassin Bear comes out when the base receives enough damage and the Wave/Surge spawns, he will likely step into the attack and die instantly, as his immense speed and high damage will cause him to easily clip through units. In other scenarios, it's still possible to hit the bear by using other enemies to generate the wave/surge just as the he appears. Outranging him is another option. It is rare, but there are some cats that can do it. One common option is Cyberpunk Cat, provided if you're able to somehow stall him. |
||
− | His weak point is the health, find a way to just hit this enemy and, unless he's very buffed or you are using Sniper the Recruit, that will be enough. |
||
⚫ | The last option is using a unit to clip through the Assassin Bear after being knocked back so they get a chance to hit it. The best choice for this would be Manic Lion Cat, as while other options can still work, they must have high speed and a short foreswing so they can catch Assassin Bear as soon as they recover from a knockback. |
||
− | ==Strategies== |
||
− | Most of the stages with Assassin Bear usually have him come out if you take too long, making him easily avoidable in those stages. The Cat Cannon can kill an Assassin Bear easily, however at higher magnifications it cannot deal enough damage, meaning a certain defeat in almost every case. |

If the Assassin Bear comes out when the base receives enough damage, it means that it will also spawn onto a shockwave or surge and die instantly. In other scenarios, it's still possible to hit the bear by using a 'stepping stone peon' and long enough waves. |
||
− | |||
− | Outranging him is another option, it is rare but there are still some cats that can do it. Some options are Balalan Pasalan, Asilan Pasalan, and Cyberpunk Cat. |

Assassin Bear (ブラックマ, Burakkuma, Black Bear) is a Black variant of Teacher Bear that appears in Legend Stages. His first appearance is in the Challenge Battle.
Enemy
Assassin Bear has incredible speed and DPS. At 100% strength magnification, he deals a meager 3,000 area damage per hit, which might not seem like much, yet he keeps himself very safe at 800 range, almost double that of Dark Emperor Nyandam (500), and his attack rate allows for over 10,000 damage per second, shredding many units with ease.
This enemy is usually used as a means of guaranteeing defeat, by spawning en masse and/or at extremely high buffs once a time limit or condition is reached, sometimes pre-announced by a Ms. Sign, making him a makeshift time limit. However, this does not happen in every stage. There are also stages in which he is actually meant to be defeated, such as Twilight Poachers, Littering Coast, False Resurrection, and Sea Cave Habitat.
In stages like Merciless Onslaught, Ashen Rain and Veggie Friends, he is used as a gimmick, in which an extremely buffed Assassin Bear spawns as soon as an enemy perishes, due to the enemy limit, leading into an instant defeat. This means you need to use the enemy limit to your advantage and keep the enemies alive.
Strategy
The default Cat Cannon's Wave Attack can kill most Assassin Bears easily, however at higher strength magnifications Assassin Bear can survive it, meaning a certain defeat if he does spawn.
Using Wave Attack Cats/Surge Attack Cats works too, as long as he isn't too buffed.
The last option is using a unit to clip through the Assassin Bear after being knocked back so they get a chance to hit it. The best choice for this would be Manic Lion Cat, as while other options can still work, they must have high speed and a short foreswing so they can catch Assassin Bear as soon as they recover from a knockback.

Kumanchu Royale
Unlike Teacher Bear, Assassin Bear appeared as a returning enemy in Kumanchu Royale. Like the other returning enemies, it had a new description created specifically for this game:

Trivia
- His Japanese name, Burakkuma, is a portmanteau of burakku ("black") and kuma ("bear").
- He is a reference to Mercenary Tao from Dragon Ball. Assassin Bear has red eyes and is otherwise entirely black except for his mouth, much like Mercenary Tao's appearance after becoming a cyborg. Furthermore, Assassin Bear's Japanese description says that he charges 100 million per kill, the same amount charged by Mercenary Tao in the Japanese version of Dragon Ball.
- He additionally bears resemblances to the Japanese mascot Kumamon and may be a reference to it.
- In the launch trailer, an Assassin Bear and 2 Shy Boys clear the entire battlefield of Cats before The Cat God comes onto the scene.
- He was the only "black" enemy in the original English Version, where the trait was not even an attribute yet. His design would then be used as the basis for most Black enemies after Version 2.0.
- At 150 speed, Assassin Bear is the fastest character in the entire game.
- He has the lowest possible money drop in the game, along with many other enemies.
- However, prior to his money drop nerf, he drops enough money to refill one's wallet on death.
- Currently, Assassin Bear is the only Black variant of an enemy to have lower health than his original form.
- In Yuru-i GeGeGe no Kitarou: Youkai Dotabata Daisensou, Assassin Bear's role as a timed menace was filled by a rainbow Type 2 Penanggalan that had much shorter range but pushed just as hard, if not harder.
