Awa-Odori Cat (Rare Cat)

Awa-Odori Cat is a Rare Cat that was added in Version 5.2 and can be unlocked when beating any stage in Summer Diary. True Form added in Version 11.8 grants Behemoth Slayer and marginally improved stats.

Strategy/Usage

Very similar to Cat in terms of usage. Cheap and expendable, it can be summoned in masses to take hits in place of other, more important units. This meatshield role is quite valuable, if not for the wide selection of cats able to perform this role without relevant differences. Awa-Odori Cat, however, can be used in 4♛ or specific restriction stages, where there is considerably less competition. Awa-Odori Cat can also be used on certain stages where you would need a lot of cheap meatshields such as Drunken Backrub.

Awa-Odori Cat can be used as a slightly faster Boogie Cat in 4♛ stages but might be overshadowed by Li'l Eraser Cat, Catburger, or Ramen Cat.

If one is to own Trickster Himeyuri and Vengeful Cat, Awa-Odori Cat can be used along with them to activate the Kimono Champs combo, which is a very slot efficient Research (L) combo, and you can use Awa-Odori Cat as an extra meatshield.

True Form

Gorgeous Groovin' Cat gains a little health & damage, along with the Behemoth Slayer ability, with a slightly higher Dodge chance than usual. This stat increase can be completely ignored, however, as it does nothing for this unit. Against Behemoths, it can help as an extra meatshield with a chance to dodge, but the chance is too low to be relied upon for the high evolution cost. For this reason, it's better to save Behemoth Stones for other, more powerful units.

• Evolved Form: Now is wearing a Happi coat and a headband.
• True Form: It has appeared to ditch the headband in favor of a unique hairstyle. It is now wearing a golden kimono.

Trivia

• Normal form references the Awa Dance Festival.
• Soran is part of Yosakoi adapted culture. Yosakoi originally coming from Kochi pfc. in Japan then adapted to Hokkaido style and more modern culture among the younger people. To differentiate with the original Yosakoi, it becomes called Yosakoi-Soran. In easy way to understand: Yosakoi Soran is more modern-styled Yosakoi.
