Strategy/Usage[]
Normal Form[]
This form is useless by design. Similarly to the other cats from Tales of the Nekoluga, this cat is not meant to be used until it evolves.
Evolved Form[]
Balalan Pasalan's damage is abysmally low, but its long-ranged freeze can be used to great effect as support, giving other units more time to attack.
Another use for it would be to stop long-ranged enemies that can constantly attack your units while they are being approached, such as Camelle or Master A. If you have money to spare, you could use this tactic along with a bunch of rushers such as Awakened Bahamut Cat. Speaking of Awakened Bahamut, Balalan Pasalan's effect makes it less difficult to clip him past enemies with Sniper the Cat or the Cat Cannon, which can be used to cheese stages that have only a singular main threat.
On the flip side, Balalan Pasalan has a long delay between attacks, meaning it shouldn't be used as your only source of crowd-control in a level, unless the level doesn't require it.
True Form[]
Piccolan Pasalan gains weaken and has its freeze duration increased to a total 3 seconds. The weaken duration is 6 seconds, but effectively only 3, since during the first 3 seconds of the weaken duration the enemy will be stopped anyway, unless the enemy is immune to freeze. This combo of abilities proves very useful for enemies with powerful attacks, as the freeze time will give your cats some time to hit without being hit back, and the weaken afterward will help halve the damage taken after the freeze wears off for 3 seconds.

Appearance[]
- Normal Form: A small Nekoluga-esque creature, except this one is round, has a long mouth, and has two wisp-like things above its head. Attacks with an energy flash from the wisps (and presumably from the belly?).
- Evolved Form: Balalan Pasalan is now giant, with its elbows and mid-torso being replaced by dark orbs. its body appears to be melting around its torso orb. Attacks by lowering itself and then using the orbs to freeze his opponents with a bright blue flash.
- True Form: Balalan remains mostly the same, but now has grey flaps sticking out of its head/neck/shoulders as well as bone-like object clutching its torso orb. The attack animation is the same except that the flash is now pinkish-red.

Trivia[]
- Its name indicates that he has separate limbs/body parts. Bala-luga might be taken from bara (ばらばら, bara bara), an onomatopoeic word that is used to express scatter/separate/split, or, perhaps, hara (ばら, stomach).
- "Piccolan" is derived from the Japanese word pika (ぴか), an onomatopoeic word for something that is flashing or glittering, referencing its attack.
- Balalan Pasalan resembles the legendary Blemmyes, a headless tribe whose faces are on their chests.
- Piccolan Pasalan's design references the Angel Sachiel from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Similarities include the red core in the center of their bodies, the flaps on the sides of their heads, the "lances" inside their arms, and the rib-like bones clutching their core, in addition to having similar body shapes. Its description states that it may be an extraterrestrial of unfathomable power, further referencing the Angels from the series.
- Ironically, Balaluga has higher attack power and DPS than its evolutions.
- Balalan Pasalan has the lowest attack power of any Uber Rare Cat.
- Balalan Pasalan has the third-lowest DPS out of all Cats in the game, with only 11 DPS at level 30, which is even lower than Zamboney Cat's 32 DPS at level 30. Healer has lower DPS than both, having only 4 DPS at level 30. However, with a many-way tie, the champions for lowest DPS are the Ancient Eggs, with 2.17 DPS at level 30.
- Balaluga and Papaluga are the only Lugas without traditional cat ears.
- Piccolan Pasalan takes up so much of its icon that the golden hue is hardly visible (if you have a good eye, you will see it at the bottom-left corner).
- Balalan and Nekoluga are currently the only Tales of the Nekoluga units to have seasonal variants, with Betrothed Balaluga and Summerluga respectively.
