Balrog, known as M. Bison in Japan, is an Uber Rare Cat that can be unlocked by playing the Rare Cat Capsule during the Street Fighter V Collaboration Event.

Strategy/Usage

Balrog is one of the very few Focused Target Cats, a class of cat that attacks only a certain trait of enemy, but has enormous stats in return. Balrog's damage and health, while not even comparable to the likes of Warlock & Pierre or Takeda Shingen, are nonetheless amazing enough that he effectively destroys his typing while remaining at a decently safe distance. With that being said, don't expect to use Balrog on stages where he won't attack.

The only class of enemy which Balrog targets, but may falter against is Zombies; as some can burrow into his standing range and chip off some of his HP. But that will happen rarely, as Balrog's decent knockback count and quick attack rate can make short work of those that do. Even against the toughest of enemies, like Dread Bore, Razorback, or J.K. Bun Bun, he will be able to stand his ground with protection. Additionally, Balrog has the Zombie Killer ability, which is an absolute must-have for Anti-Zombie Cats.

This unit has a usefully low cost, but also a long cooldown, making it so he can be sent out early into the battle, which is especially good for Zombie stages, as they are often cash-limited, but he can't be stacked or replaced in longer fights.

• Balrog, Sagat, and Guile are the only Street Fighter V Uber Rare Cats whose color scheme does not change after evolving, as, in Balrog's case, it instead switches to his classic clothes.
• In Japan, he is known as M. Bison (Mike Bison), a reference to the boxer Mike Tyson, which wasn't kept in English due to copyright concerns.
