Battle Cats Wiki

Candy Paradise (カルメ桃源郷 Karume Tōgenkyō, Karume Utopia) is the 12th sub-chapter of Zero Legends, and the 110th sub-chapter overall. It was introduced in Version 13.4 and is available up to 1♛ difficulty.

One of the most straightforward Zero Legends sub-chapters yet. The odd-numbered stages are Zombie-heavy stages that can easily be thwarted by standard anti-Zombie Cats like Cadaver BearCat and Housewife Cat. The even-numbered stages focus on Sages and require slightly more effort, with the hardest overall arguably being Pointed Lakeshore, a fight against Dark Dober and Oldhorn with Gory Blacks, Trolly Bloggers and Dogensteins as peons.

  • In BCJP, this sub-chapter contains many puns and references that were lost in translation:
    • Candy Paradise's Japanese name, Karume Tōgenkyō (カルメ桃源郷, "Karume Utopia"), is derived from karumeyaki (カルメやき), the Japanese word for honeycomb toffee.
    • Kinako Bochi (きなこ墓地, "Kinako Cemetery"), sounds similar to kinako mochi (きなこ餅), mochi coated kinako (roasted soybean flour). It could also be a reference to kinakobō (きなこ棒), a stick-shaped candy made using kinako.
    • Tongari Kohan (トンガリ湖畔, "Tongari Lakeside"), sounds similar to Tongari Kōn (とんがりコーン), the Japanese name of Bugles. Tongari means pointed, hence its English name being Pointed Lakeshore.
    • Furisosogu Neri Ame (降り注ぐねりあめ, "Raining Neri Ame") references the candy Neri Ame.
    • Yogu Rettō (ヨーグ列島, "Yogurt Archipelago") is a pun on yōguruto (ヨーグルト, yogurt) and rettō (列島, "archipelago").
    • Katanuki Iseki (かたぬき遺跡, "Katanuki Ruins") refers to the candy-carving festival activity katanuki.
    • Pachi Pachi Wonderland (パチパチワンダーランド) may be a reference to Pachi Pachi Panic (パチパチパニック, Pachi Pachi Panikku), a candy similar to Pop Rocks.
