Casaurian Ahirujo (超鳥獣アヒルジョー, Chō Chōjū Ahirujō, Super Bird-Beast Ahirujō) is a Red/Behemoth variant of Duche that appears in Legend Stages.
Enemy[]
A strong, hard-hitting enemy that has a standing range on par with Cameraman Cat but hits progressively farther with each of the three hits of its attack, reaching Gross Cat levels on the third hit. Make sure you have units that can tank its attacks, for its potential pushing power is immense. Apple Cat, Evil Cat, Cyberpunk Cat and the like are rendered useless by its immunities to freeze and slow.
Casaurian Ahirujo is most dangerous when it has strong peons in front of it, allowing it to chip away at your frontline while not taking too much damage itself.
Strategy[]
Though they may have wildly different attack ranges and styles, strategy-wise, think of Casaurian Ahirujo as a Bore that can't be frozen or slowed. Whale Cat, Crazed Fish Cat and optionally Dark Lazer can tank and bring down a lone Ahirujo just as well as against Bore, while Fried Shrimp Cat can do double-duty tanking and weakening. Use Cat Combos to further improve the efficacy of these units.
Meatshields are important, but Eraser Cat and Manic Eraser Cat have to be at high levels (20+43 and 32 respectively) to endure all three hits from a 100% Ahirujo, so for early players, cheaper options like Macho Cat, Crazed Macho Cat and Kyubey Cat are preferred unless the Erasers are needed to survive hits from other enemies in the stage. Pirate Cat can also help because Ahirujo tends to move forward ever so slightly after each attack.
Courier Cat is catered specifically to counter Casaurian Ahirujo, since his Behemoth Slayer and Massive Damage vs. Red abilities stack multiplicatively, increasing the value by 10x with all Blood Fruit treasures, which enables Courier to gravely cripple this enemy in a few hits. However, as they stand at the same range, Courier may be occasionally inconsistent.
Melee rushers like Awakened Bahamut Cat are not effective due to Ahirujo's very strong attack and multi-hit, which will usually cause them to die before they're able to deal significant damage.

Trivia[]
- "Casaurian" is a portmanteau of Casuarius, the genus of birds that cassowaries are in, and saurian, meaning "of or like a lizard".
- Casaurian Ahirujo makes two different Monster Hunter references:
- Its frills, beak shape, legs, color scheme and attack animation draw heavily from Yian Kut-Ku. Like Ahirujo, Yian Kut-Ku is generally a lower-tier monster encountered early in the game.
- The name Ahirujo is a portmanteau of ahiru, the Japanese word for duck, and Ibirujō, the Japanese name of Deviljho.
- Foie gras is a French "delicacy" made from the fattened liver of a duck or goose. Due to the sheer cruelty of force-feeding and then slaughtering the birds, this dish is banned in many places.
