Cat beacon

The Cat Beacon

Cat Beacon (にゃんこビーコン Nyanko Bīkon) is a feature added in the Version 6.1 Update of Nyanko Daisensou. It is used to send data to players via their smartphone in a limited space. Unlocked after beating Chapter 1 of the Empire of Cats. This feature is not available in the English version.

Explanation[]

AIBeacon is a service that makes use of a smartphone's data mining technology. When smartphone users approach the installed AIBeacon terminal, their behavior characteristics will be acquired; it's possible to send those users data such as push notifications and coupons. AIBeacon sends data to any devices in its range, regardless of the application(s) being used, and then receives data in return, keeping the user anonymous for privacy concerns. AIBeacon operates via Bluetooth, so Bluetooth must be enabled for the smartphone user to receive data from the Cat Beacon. The smartphone user does not need to join any WiFi networks for the data transfer to take place. In The Battle Cats' case, the player's smartphone must be at Android version 4.3 and above or iOS 7 and above to use this feature.

Known Usage[]

  • This feature was first used in the 5th BitSummit, Held in Miyako Messe. Players who went to PONOS' booth with a downloaded Nyanko Daisensou app were able to unlock a limited character, Maneki Cat.

Trivia[]

  • The Cat Beacon's icon somewhat resembles the Dragon Radar from the Dragon Ball series.
  • In The Battle Cats Unite! it appears in the sprite sheet list but goes completely unused.
