Cat Food

Cat Food is the currency for in-app purchases. Cat Food is needed for using The Cat God's services, refilling energy without using a Leadership, or continuing a battle. Cat Food can be converted into XP, and can also be used to buy Battle Items to enhance gameplay. Certain Special Cats can only be bought with Cat Food. Cat Food can be obtained by Tapjoy offers, watching ads or buying them via in-app purchase.

They can also be earned by getting stamps or through Legend Stages, as beating an event or sub-chapter for the first time will award 30 Cat Food. Along with that, beating a Zombie Outbreak or any Into the Future stage quick enough will give 10 Cat Food. Completing a Go! Go! Pogo Cat or Battle Cats Quest mission can also grant Cat Food.

After clearing Cats of the Cosmos Chapter 1, players will receive a discount of 70% for all purchases pertaining to Cat God in regard to Cat Food required for said purchases.

Cat Food Shop[]

The Cat Food Shop is a menu that can be accessed via the Cat Base Menu by clicking on the + icon next to the Cat Food counter. There are a few options the player can select from, buying a set amount of Cat Food from 8 separate options, watch an ad or enter the Complete Offers menu. Internet is required to reach the Cat Food Shop.

Completing Offers[]

The Complete Offers button when pressed will take the player to a webpage managed by a 3rd party organization called "Tapjoy". Here the player can choose from a variety of offers to earn Cat Food.

These offers either require the player to download a game and complete objectives inside it, or complete surveys to earn Cat Food. Once an offer is started, it will be placed in the upper portion of the screen and will show how many of the objectives are left to be completed. All offers have an expiry date, where once hit, the offer will end. Offers will also end if the player finishes all the objectives. Offers cannot be repeated.

When objectives are completed, Cat Food will be awarded to the player. Total rewards an offer can pay out have been seen to range from 4 - 40,000+ Cat Food. It's important to note that whenever a reward is above around 200 Cat Food it usually includes an in-app purchase as an objective. Depending on the price for the in-app purchase and the amount of Cat Food it would return it could be a better deal than buying Cat Food straight from the Cat Food Shop.

The more Cat Food that is awarded for an offer will also typically means more time required to be invested into the offer, with increased difficulty. It is important to make sure that an app has successfully been linked to Tapjoy, otherwise no Cat Food will be gained from meeting objectives. If an offer is about an app that is already owned, no Cat Food can be gained from the offer.

Watching Ads[]

When pressed, the Watch Ad button will start an ad. For each ad watched, 1 Cat Food is awarded. Ads can be watched up to 5 times a day; if the player tries to watch more than 5 ads an error will pop up, "View limit reached for today". Occasionally, a Cat Bulletin will also pop up, announcing that the Cat Food awarded from ads will be doubled, watching all 5 ads seems to cause it.

Trivia[]

  • Cat Food is called "ネコカン" (Cat Can) in the Japanese Version.
  • Prior to Version 11.2 there was no limit on how many ads could be watched per day, so if properly automated a player could easily farm a large quantity of Cat Food without even playing the game.
  • Strangely, the option to purchase 30 Cat Food in the Cat Food Shop is placed after the 330 Cat Food option, when it would make more sense for it to be placed at the start before the 90 Cat Food option.
