Cat Toaster (Super Rare Cat)

Cat Toaster is a Super Rare Cat that was added in Version 3.0 and can be obtained by playing the Rare Cat Capsule. True Form added in Version 5.1 gains Barrier Breaker and increases health, attack power and slow duration. Talents were added in Version 8.0.

Strategy/Usage

Cat Toaster on surface seems to have good use, but much like Delinquent Cat, his main issue is his very long cooldown. Unlike Can Can Cat, whose application expands wildly with his high stats and disposability, Cat Toaster doesn't even offer serviceable stats. Furthermore, his anti-Angel abilities are outclassed in various ways, as most Angels have low range and the exceptions often have much better counters like talented Sanzo Cat, not to mention his poor uptime and Juliet Cat's freeze. There's no point in using it at all.

True Form

Catophone gains more stats and Barrier Breaker, as well as increased slow duration. Unfortunately, none of these improve it meaningfully. Its stats are still too low to be useful, and same goes for its 5-second slow due to its activation chance remaining at 30%. Barrier Breaker, while seemingly useful, is hindered by other circumstances. Most Barriers won't stand a beating, but even if they could, the Breakerblast Cannon, Fencer Cat, Li'l Macho Legs Cat and Space Marine Cat could all do the job better, with Fencer getting it every time. Catophone’s one advantage over these other units is that it has area attacks, but the need to deal with multiple shielded aliens is limited and can be handled by stacking cheaper units. This leaves the unit at an extremely awkward position where all its niches are covered by superior alternatives.

Talents

Because of the aforementioned issues, Catophone is not worth any NP investment. If you decide to use it as an area-attacker with Barrier Breaker, then investment improving that talent and also adding the Target Alien talent will help make it more useful. Cost Down may also help since it is such an expensive unit for what it does.
