Strategy/Usage[]
Metal enemies beware! Catornado has Area Attack and the fastest attack rate of all Cat Units, dealing constant Critical Hits to groups of enemies. Even when he doesn't land Critical Hits, his godly attack rate can still shred weaker Metals such as Metal Hippoe, Metal Doge, Croconator and to a certain extent, Metal One Horn. Overall, Catornado is a great anti-Metal unit, but make sure to support him with other Critters when facing more durable Metals like Super Metal Hippoe, Sir Metal Seal and Metal Cyclone, as Catornado's damage and range typically won't be enough to deal with them on his own.
While his damage per hit is low, Hurricat has the highest DPS of all non-Uber/Legend Rare Cats that can deal Critical Area Attacks. His relatively low Critical rate also means that he benefits significantly from Miracle Performance, effectively raising his expected DPS against Metal enemies by about 40%.
In Cats in the Snow, this unit can act as a shield against the Snowball as they have very low HP and range and Catornado has a godly attack rate, effectively destroying all incoming Snowballs before getting hit.
True Form[]
Catyphoon gains improved health and speed. The increased health is helpful, but not a drastic buff, while the speed boost is insignificant and can even be a downside in some cases, such as trying to cheese Final Tower. Overall, unlike most of the Cyclone Stages' drops, this True Form doesn't bring a lot of improvements, but is still worth getting if you're able to complete the stage it drops from.

Trivia[]
- Catornado has the fastest attack rate of all cats in the game, matching most of the Cyclones.
- The names of all of Catornado's forms are plays on the words for some types of severe weather, those being tornadoes, hurricanes and typhoons respectively.
- Since his Japanese description mentions an "amazing adventure that begins with blowing away a bus station in rain", the umbrella-holding cat and spinning top in Catyphoon are likely referencing Totoro from the Studio Ghibli film My Neighbor Totoro.
- The umbrella and spinning top could also be a reference to Mary Poppins.
- The line "Karadajū ni kaze o atsumete arashi o makiokosu neko" ("A Cat that gathers the wind in his body and causes storms") in Catyphoon's Japanese description is a reference to the lyric "Karadajū ni kaze o atsumete makiokose arashi arashi" ("Gather the wind in your body and cause a storm, a storm") from "A • RA • SHI", the first single by Japanese boy band Arashi.
