Crustaceous Scissorex (Alien/Behemoth)

Crustaceous Scissorex (超甲獣シザーレックス, Chō Kōjū Shizārekkusu, Super Shell-Beast Scissorex) is an Alien/Behemoth variant of Helmut Krabbe that appears in Event Stages and Enigma Stages.

Enemy

Crustaceous Scissorex is a very strong backliner boasting huge damage, HP and range. His already above-average range is further increased with his Multi-Hit attack, reaching 401 range on the first hit and 601 on the second. Don't forget that he can slow Cats on both hits which makes it much harder for Cats to attack him.

Strategy

Despite his long reach and high stats, his attack rate is fairly slow so if you spam meatshields, you can pin him in place. Dealing damage to him is difficult though, as his second hit reaches almost any Uber Rare Cat in the game. However, when he doesn't have enemies in front of him, speedy and/or tanky anti-Aliens can be useful. Examples include Macho Leg Cat, Blanka, Mekako Saionji, Lumina, Seafarer Cat and Doktor Heaven. Catarzan is a decent option, having effectiveness against both Aliens and Behemoths but lacking the endurance needed to become a definitive counter to him. If Scissorex has enemies in front of him, you can use Surge or Long Distance Cats to snipe him.

Trivia

• Crustaceous Scissorex gets its name from scissors, referring to its monstrous pincers, and -rex, a taxonomic suffix used to describe certain large animals such as Tyrannosaurus rex.
• Crustaceous Scissorex is a reference to Stonefist Hermitaur from the Monster Hunter series, a giant hermit crab with a skull for a shell and a left claw bigger than its right.
• Crustaceous Scissorex appears to be wearing a Bun Bun's skull as a shell.
  • Incidentally, Teacher Bun Bun's description says, "His physical punishment is love," while Scissorex is stated to have gained "the irrational power of love."
