For the Invasion stage, see Eldritch Forces/Invasion.

Eldritch Forces is the final stage of the Stories of Legend campaign, and the only stage in Laboratory of Relics. Mecha-Bun resides here and can be unlocked as a Cat Unit at a 100% chance when beating the stage. Clearing this stage unlocks the True Forms of all previous Stories of Legend Units and gives access to Growing Strange, a stage that drops necessary associated materials. This is a No Continues stage.

After clearing all Stories of Legend sub-chapters on all Crown difficulties, the 4-Crown version of this stage will be unlocked. On completion, the stage is invaded by Idi:Re and becomes Eldritch Forces Invasion, which reverts to normal when beaten.

Strategy[]

The general idea is to stall for as long as possible, then overwhelm the boss with anti-Floating debuffers, which may come from Rare, Super Rare or Uber Rare Cats.

Units that can hit enemies outside of their range are recommended to keep the peons from interfering. Long Distance, Wave, and Surge units are most useful for piercing.

Strategy 1[]

Lineup: Biohazard, Bony Bone, Horror Movies, Sanzo Cat, Cameraman Cat, Manic Eraser Cat 30

Cannon: Default

Notes: If you have any better research combos, use them instead as long as you have Necro-Dancer Cat and Sadako Cat, the open slots can be any stallers, meatshields or units with Long Distance or waves.

Battle: Stall the Li'l Bun Bun for as long as possible with Manic Eraser Cats and, when needed, Sadako, all the while upgrading the Worker Cat whenever possible. Once Li'l Bun Bun dies, stop investing in the worker and save up money. Once you have a Sadako reach the middle of the stage, start to spam Sadako Cats, Necro-Dancer Cats, Sanzo Cats and Cameraman Cats, priority being in this order. Once the boss fight is about to start, add Manic Erasers to the spam. Use the cannon to clear the way a little, then watch as Mecha-Bun gets frozen while stuck attacking a Sadako. Sanzo's slow (and weaken if you have the Talent) will help as a failsafe if Necro-Dancer's freeze deactivates, while Cameraman will keep the path clear and deal damage.

Strategy 2 (4 Crowns)[]

Lineup: Biohazard, Bony Bone, Li'l Eraser Cat 35+7, Riceball Cat 32, Sanzo Cat, Awakened Bahamut Cat 30

Cannon: Slow Beam

Items: Rich Cat

Notes: If you have any better research combos, use them instead, Rich Cat is not necessary, you can also use Thunderbolt instead of Slow Beam, and the open slots can be any of the units mentioned below of your choosing.

Courier Cat, Jellycat, Quarterback Cat, Miasma Cat, Grandmaster Cat, Mystic Yulala, Mystic Uril (all level 30).

First upgrade your Worker Cat to level 2, then wait until the Li'l Bun Bun is at your base to spam Necro-Dancers, Sanzos, Riceballs and Li'l Erasers. After the Li'l Bun Bun dies, stop spawning Riceballs and try to wait a few seconds after spawning another Li'l Eraser. When your cats are close to the base, resume spawning Riceball Cat. When Mecha-Bun comes out, keep it in place with the Cannon when it is near your Necro-Dancer stack and then he should be perma-frozen, afterwards spawn your Long Distance/wave/surge units, Cyborg and Awakened Bahamut.

Strategy 3 (1-Crown, No Necro-dancer)[]

Lineup: Biohazard, Bony Bone, Manic Eraser Cat 40, Octopus Cat 30, Sanzo Cat, Awakened Bahamut Cat 30, Cyberpunk Cat

Cannon: Thunderbolt

Items: Rich Cat

Notes: Rich Cat is not necessary, but will help. use Thunderbolt. and the open slots can be filled out with spammable area attackers that dont cost too much (I.E Kasa Jizo, Cameraman Cat, Courier Cat.) If you do end up using Cameraman in your loadout, make sure its survive talent is maxxed.

The problem in this stage is money as it is pretty tight. Assuming you have rich cat, stall the First Li'l Bun Bun With Sanzos, a few Octopuses (don't send out too many), and Manic erasers. The Li'l Bun Bun will die after a minute or so, and by then hopefully you should have roughly 9,000c. As your army is progressing towards the base, summon Cyberpunk and spam everything you have (except combo cats) just enough so you can stall effectively while not running out of money. The Sanzos should keep Mecha Bun at bay while your area attackers deal chip damage and fend off the peons. As long as your Cyberpunk doesn't die, and you can keep a flow of Sanzos coming in, you should be able to beat the stage.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only Stories of Legend stage to have No Continues, a unique enemy base design and music, a guaranteed drop (Mecha-Bun, or Idi:N in the Invasion), and an exclusive background.
  • In the background of this stage, you can see Relic Doges inside the containers.
