Strategy/Usage[]
Initially, Fortune Teller Cat is a very potent counter to Shy Boy, most Teacher Bun Bun variants, Red Cyclone, Black Cyclone and White Cyclone; when stacked, he can easily prevent Floating enemies from being able to move at all.
Later in the game, his ability becomes more risky as more stages include backline enemies who can kill any cat that enters that range. It is recommended to replace him with Sanzo Cat or Necro-Dancer Cat, as the former has Area Attack and both have safer abilities and superior range.
Although he becomes obsolete rather easily, the one thing he can be used for at any point in the game is Moby Dick, a Unit Defense Up (Sm) Cat Combo which also activates Cap'n Ahab.
True Form[]
Doctor Cat gains a 10% increased chance to knockback Floating enemies and greatly increased health. This relatively minor improvement, compared to its peers, makes unlocking this form a low priority unless you also aim to unlock his talents. Despite everything, it can be useful for stages like Tiny Wings, when you don't have many other reliable options for controlling Li'l Flying Cat.
Works surprisingly well in Mega Menace.
Talents[]
His Target Relic Talent allows him to quite safely keep Oldhorn and Primeval Cyclone at bay. It also allows him to stun-lock certain relic bosses by their base, making them useless (notably, when used properly, a group of Doctor Cats can completely stunlock the final boss of Uncanny Legends), plus it can shake off certain enemies from the Cat Base, such as Naala. Health up and curse resistance slightly improve Doctor's chances at delivering one last knockback after taking a hit, but they are hardly worth it if this cat is not boosted. Finally, attack up and knockback resistance are nigh-useless.
Orb[]
Using any orb on Doctor Cat would likely be a waste, but if one needs to be chosen, it should be an health up for floating. Remember that catseyes and + levels are better ways to improve this guy's survivability.
