Strategy/Usage
Initially, Fortune Teller Cat is a very potent counter to Shy Boy, most Teacher Bun Bun variants, Red Cyclone, Black Cyclone and White Cyclone; when stacked, he can easily prevent Floating enemies from being able to move at all.
Later in the game, his ability becomes more risky as more stages include backline enemies who can kill any cat that enters that range. It is recommended to replace him with Sanzo Cat or Necro-Dancer Cat, as the former has Area Attack; and both have safer abilities and superior range.
Although he becomes obsolete rather easily, the one thing he can be used for at any point in the game is Moby Dick, a Unit Defense Up (Sm) Cat Combo which also activates Cap'n Ahab.
True Form
Doctor Cat gains a 10% increased chance to knockback Floating enemies and greatly increased health. With that being said, this form is not very recommended to unlock unless you are trying to unlock his talents, most likely for Target Relic, although this form can be useful for stages like Tiny Wings, when you don't have many other reliable options for controlling Li'l Flying Cat. Otherwise the Catfruit that you will use for this form is better spent elsewhere on a more worthwhile anti-Floating cat such as Sanzo Cat or Necro-Dancer Cat.
Talents
In theory, his Target Relic Talent could give him a late-game niche, but his short range combined with Single Target gives him no use outside of Oldhorn and Primeval Cyclone. None of the other talents improves this unit in a significant way either, so using NP on Doctor Cat is not recommended, unless you are struggling against these enemies.
