Strategy/Usage[]
Essentially a walking Pandora's Box, Ebisu can be used to bring torment to almost any opponent he comes into contact with (minus enemies that have obnoxiously long range like Tackey, Mr. Mole, etc). With his Long Distance ability, Ebisu is able to snipe dangerous backliners like Angelic Sleipnir. However, his many abilities make him excellent against most solo bosses, notably in an ancient curse.
At first, his low chance rate of 30% seems pathetic, but when taking account of his multi-hit attack, the rate of a debuff jumps to more than 70%, which is more than adequate to keep smaller enemy hordes at bay. Do note that as he has multiple status effects, if you are in a sticky situation, he is not completely reliable for the status effects he inflicts.
Keep in mind that Ebisu is not completely infallible, as his single target, low effect uptime and long recharge time all limit his usage, so use him as support for your other crowd control units.

Trivia[]
- Good-Luck Ebisu is named after the Japanese god of fishermen and luck Ebisu, who is one of the seven Japanese gods of fortune. Similar to the unit's appearance, Ebisu is often depicted as a cheery dwarf-ish man with the proportions of a baby, wearing a tall hat, and carrying a rod and fish. Ebisu is often identified with Hiruko, the misconceived firstborn son of Izanagi and his sister Izanami.
- The kanji on Good-Luck Ebisu's hat is 七, meaning seven.
- The kanji engraved in the hexagon that Bad-Luck Ebisu's chains are linked to is 王, meaning king.
- The number 4649 under the skull and crossbones on Bad-Luck Ebisu's rod is a goroawase pun on the phrase yoroshiku, meaning "please be kind" or "best regards".
- Good-Luck Ebisu is similar to Mimilan Pasalan and Emperor Cat, both boasting several different anti-trait abilities that each have a 30% chance to activate.
- In 2021's Best of the Best event, his description had a typo stating he inflicted negative status effects on Traitless enemies.
