Great Ape Luza, despite having the exploitable Behemoth attribute, still should not be underestimated. It fires off powerful, far-reaching multi-hits, destroying even the most durable units in a couple of cycles with only a small opening to sneak through. It only has 4 knockbacks, with immunity to waves and a lot of health, which makes it all the more difficult, and can be extremely dangerous once the nasty support enemies enter the fray.
Strategy[]
Great Ape Luza appears in three different stages, each featuring its own challenging set of enemies. However, there are still some units who can work well against this beast in all three. Notably, this enemy is only encountered after beating Atonement for Sin, so the True Forms of most of the Uncanny Legends units will be quite useful.
Reborn Warrior Doguemon can tank Luza quite well with his Relic resistance and Behemoth Slayer, though the other Behemoths fighting alongside Luza can put considerable pressure. His positive matchup against Wild Doge and Cumulus Gallus also helps in Ape Lord's Revenge.
Awakened Doron can get off a powerful Surge Attack for free. While the surge does need some luck to land against Luza, it can deal considerable damage, especially at level 40. Luza is not immune to surges, freeze, or knockback, so Doron is especially useful for regaining ground. Doron's surge can also deal considerable damage to supporting enemies provided they aren't immune to surges themselves.
Awakened Naala has solid use, being strong against Relics with a guaranteed 50% weaken and Behemoth Slayer. Weakening Luza makes it that much easier to handle.
Idi:N2 can be used to deal an immediate burst of damage whenever Luza isn't protected by other enemies. Doron's freeze can create a solid opening for this quick burst of damage. However, Idi:N2 is less consistent than other options as she cannot tank them, resulting in less damage overall.
Esoteric Uril's Strong against Relics and Behemoth Slayer allow him to tank several hits from Luza and both abilities allow him to inflict over 25,000 damage per hit at Level 40, and even more with the Surge. In addition, Uril can also Slow and Curse Luza and is quite easy to replace in True Form.
A large ape that has guarded the Sacred Woods since ancient times. Considered the origin of humans. Can stand against Behemoths that wield the Ancient Curse.
A great ape who has been protecting the divine tree since ancient times. It is said to be the origin of humanity. Those who can stand up to this "Super Beast" that releases "Ancient Curses" have a chance of winning.
A much stronger variant of Great Ape Luza that is a Colossal enemy instead of a Behemoth, with better stats, range, freeze immunity and the ability to strengthen by 100% at 33% health.

Trivia[]
Although it sounds similar to loser, the name Luza (ルーザ) is more likely derived from saru or zaru (猿/サル/ザル), the Japanese word for monkey.
Since it's a Behemoth, Great Ape Luza may have been inspired by Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak's Garangolm, a huge, grey-and-green gorilla-like monster associated with nature. Though it's not a Behemoth, Zero Luza shows further parallels to Garangolm, including heavily armored arms, eye color when attacking (red), and becoming more dangerous when its health drops below a certain threshold.
Great Ape Luza's description appears to have been mistranslated. It says that Luza itself can stand against Behemoths, when it's supposed to say that some Cats are capable of such feats.
