Strategy/Usage[]
Gunduros initially sounds extremely promising. Stat-wise, it boasts an impressive 19.6K DPS against Alien and Black enemies at 500 range, dishing out 282.5K damage each time accounting for all Treasures. It also has good bulk with 119K health, and 2 knockbacks means it will usually finish its attack. These stats are actually very similar to Mission Control Mekako, however Gunduros has better DPS, health, raw damage and range, on top of also targeting Black enemies. On top of this, Gunduros can both Knockback and Slow for a whopping 8 seconds, once again surpassing Mekako's already good 5 second slow.
With these impressive stats, there has to be a catch of some kind, and there is. For one, Gunduros has a slightly sluggish cooldown of about 2 minutes (the same as Mekako). This isn't terrible though below average, but made worse by a terrible speed of 4, the same as Sodom, a unit infamous for his terrible mobility. Gunduros also has a high cost of 5,925 (the same as Mekako, funnily enough); again, while not terrible, it compounds the issue of terrible speed. This already devalues Gunduros by a good bit, but then we reach the one stat that kills this unit: foreswing. Gunduros takes 14.5 seconds to attack, but when it does, its attack animation takes a miserable 7.4 seconds to finish. For reference, Mekako, who has been discussed several times here, has a foreswing of 2.27 seconds, which can sometimes still miss. 7.4 seconds means Gunduros will constantly miss attacks if the frontline pushes even slightly, and if infiltrated means Gunduros may struggle to get an attack off despite its high bulk, sometimes just dying on the spot. If it misses, it also has to wait 4.67 seconds before trying again, while not awful, makes the foreswing even worse. Not only that, Black enemies are highly aggressive, and will shred Gunduros if left exposed for even a moment, making their awful attack cycle even worse. It also lacks any form of piercing such as Omni Strike or Waves, so it can and will constantly miss attacks on what it wants to target. This single stat throws Gunduros into the gutter, and turns a potentially great Uber into a bad one.
Lastly, it's important to bring up Gunduros' Conjure, giving a freeze of 3.33 seconds. This ability is actually quite solid by itself, especially given how well it can synergize with other attackers and Gunduros itself. Freeze gives breathing room to all your units, allowing them to land an extra hit or simply live longer. For Gunduros, it can allow it to hit a devastating attack since the freeze is about half of its foreswing, making landing a shot easier. Still, this can only happen once per Gunduros, and given the cooldown you'll likely activate it once or maybe twice per battle if you stall long enough. It shouldn't be the main reason you bring Gunduros, but instead a nice bonus that can come in handy if used right.

Appearance[]
- Normal Form: A large, armored 6-legged dragon who has a cat on his chest, spikes running down his back, and a drill-like tail. The dragon has a massive cannon attached to the top of its head with webs of skin. Attacks by charging up the cannon, eventually having the tail poke into the backside of it to activate it, firing an explosion. Sentient Death star.
- Evolved Form: Some of the dragon is now in color, and the cat on its chest is now crazed. The drill tail's spinning gears are now black. The explosion is now more powerful.

Trivia[]
- Gunduros's Japanese name, Gandorosu (ガンドロス), may be derived from gan (ガン, "gun") and foregandorosu (フォレガンドロス, "Folegandros", a small Greek island of the Cyclades). It may also involve Randorosu (ランドロス, the Japanese name of the Pokémon Landorus) or Dorosu-kyū (ドロス級, "Dolos-class") from Mobile Suit Gundam.
