Hippoe (カバちゃん, Kaba-chan, Hippo-chan) is a Traitless enemy that appears in the Main Chapters and Legend Stages.
Enemy[]
Hippoe is the first "boss" enemy the player will encounter. It is similar to a 500% Those Guys with area attack, having one knockback, five times the health and damage of Those Guys, but has a slower attack rate and speed.
Strategy[]
Hippoe is a very strong enemy early on, being able to withstand multiple hits from Gross Cat. It will take about 10 hits from Gross Cat to just destroy Hippoe. Most of the time, you need to abuse its short range by stalling it with meatshields while your ranged attackers whittle it down, and optionally clear any peons near it.
In later stages, Hippoe is essentially a money bag or used to absorb hits for more powerful attackers, like backliners such as Dark Emperor Nyandam, or pushers like R.Ost, unless it is insanely buffed, as in The Noble Tribe.

- It is the first enemy to appear as a boss and the first enemy to have Area Attack.
- Its Japanese name, Kaba-chan, has a double meaning: while kaba (カバ) is Japanese for "hippopotamus", Kaba-chan is also the name of a transgender actress and choreographer.
- Although Hippoe's gender is unknown in The Battle Cats, its description in the original Battle Cats game referred to it as female, claiming "This dangerous Bi-sexual hippo has confidence in stamina and power. She has multi-attack skill."
- The line, "A dangerous guy who attacks multiple units at once," (一度に複数体をまとめて攻撃してくる危険なやつ) in Hippoe's Japanese description was reused for Mr. Mer's description in Kumanchu Royale.
- Despite the description saying otherwise, Hippoe does not have "A multi attack skill".
- It could, however, refer to area attack allowing Hippoe to hit multiple cats at once.
