Strategy/Usage

This unit is best used as a 'secondary' meatshield, one that has a higher cost and longer recharge but has higher health and a targeted trait. In this case, Jetpack Cat proves to be a great meatshield against Alien enemies, and decent against Black. Against Alien, each Jetpack Cat has over 75k health, and that's with each one of these. When compared to Catellite, Jetpack Cat gets a major win in the health category, over double what Catellite reaches at Level 30. While Catellite has the advantage of bonus levels and higher damage, Jetpack Cat has Area Attacks and can be boosted itself to still compete health-wise. Catellite also has the important Immune to Warp which Jetpack Cat lacks, on top of being more expensive. Just don't leave it fully out of the question. Regardless, Jetpack Cat is still an excellent meatshield against Aliens; it's just that Catellite provides some competition for it.

Against Black enemies, Jetpack Cat fares worse but is still a decent option. Its primary competition is Gas Mask Cat, Nono, and Li'l Gau, but Jetpack Cat still holds up. Against Gas Mask, Jetpack Cat has better health, damage and recharge, as well as lower range than Bombercat, making it the preferred option against non-Behemoth enemies. Nono is a collab unit making it limited, but if one does have it it can provide some competition due to its recharge time and cost being much better, but recharge can be remedied with a recharge combo, namely Biohazard and Bony Bone. These will give Jetpack Cat the same recharge, though this doesn't make it truly superior as it does require 3 units to use, 2 of those being admittedly quite terrible. Still, Jetpack Cat will be the best option in most scenarios if the player lacks Nono, which is likely given her collab status.

Finally, Colossus Slayer is a true game-changer for this unit. The only other Colossus meatshield that exists is Maize Cat, so Jetpack Cat gains an immediate niche from it. Against Colossus, it has 22k HP which is higher than Manic Eraser so it doesn't get immediately outclassed. What Colussus Slayer really does for this unit, however, is make it incredible when combined with its Resistance to Alien and Black foes. Against a Colossus enemy with either the Alien or Black trait, Jetpack Cat has a whopping 109k HP against them. While only Super Hyppoh and Le'Grim have these traits so far, in the future there will likely be more, and Jetpack Cat will truly shine in those circumstances. Its Slow Immune also makes it an excellent match to both. Jetpack Cat's damage also isn't too shabby at 1,876 DPS, so it can do decent damage against Colossus that will rack up over time. Super Hyppoh is already one of the most difficult enemies in the game, so any Cats who can do well against this cosmic juggernaut are greatly appreciated.

Overall, Jetpack Cat is an excellent unit that serves as a great reward for taking down one of the hardest advent bosses.

• Kinjirou Cat directly references Ninomiya Kinjirō, a historical philosopher known for his work in agriculture and education.
