Strategy/Usage[]
This cat should primarily be used against Metal enemies, thanks to its Critical Hit ability. The chance is immensely low, at a measly 5%, but this is countered by his quick Cooldown and attack rate, which allow stacks to build up and tens of hits to come out in quick succession. However, even against Metal enemies, it might not be useful at times: most of the stronger Metal enemies, such as Sir Metal Seal and Super Metal Hippoe, outrange it in its Normal/Evolved forms.
He also has easily accessible and universally useful combos that should not be ignored.
True Form[]
Catasaurus gains improved health, attack power, range and Critical Hit chance. The range, by going from 150 to 180, is actually a big improvement, as it now allows Catasaurus to outrange both Sir Metal Seal and Super Metal Hippoe, while the stat boosts and better crit chance further increase survivability and the kill power of a stack, making this unit considerably more consistent and, even in the endgame, capable of standing up to about any metal enemy if properly supported. Due to the low range and damage against any other traits, its use should be limited to metal foes, but it is not a complete waste of a slot, if brought as a precaution in a stage where metals turn out not to appear, as its cost, health and recharge make it a passable improvised meatshield.
Talents[]
Critical chance up is by far the most important talent, as it is both a big and cheap improvement to Catasaurus' offensive power and reliability against Metal enemies. Its Cost Down talent also reduces the strain on your wallet, which is very important in metal stages in general. Resist Knockback is incredibly useful against Super Metal Hippoe, due to allowing Catasaurus stacks to immediately come back after a reduced knockback, as well as slowing the Hippo's pushing power if the meatshields fall, but its worth may be questionable due to being irrelevant against any other metal enemy and them not being able to reposition as easily especially when other threats such as Sir Metal Seal get mixed in with Super Metal Hippoe. The stat buffs and the talent orb slot can easily combine with a good base level and allow Catasaurus to still form stacks against buffed metal enemies and quickly kill even the toughest Metal Seals around.
Orb[]
Defense up against metals. Nothing else would make sense. Catasaurus specializes against metal enemies, and defense up is the only type of talent orb for metal.

Trivia[]
- Catasaurus resembles and references Yoshi from the Super Mario games: the description says "Discovered a cute dinosaur in a magical land of fungi", resembling the Mushroom Kingdom. The dinosaur, while jumping, moves its feet for extra time in the air when attacking, just like Yoshi. It is also interesting to note that when knocked back, the dinosaur's tongue can be seen, which further supports its resemblance with Yoshi.
- Catasaurus is currently the only cat unit with a Talent which caps at level 5. Consequentially, they are the only cat unit with a Talent which costs a mere 25 NP to fully upgrade.
- In spite of the unit's description, there were no cats in the Jurassic period. The oldest fossil of a remotely cat-like creature is around 30 million years old, while the Jurassic Period ended 145 million years ago.
- Jurassic Cat's Spanish Name, "Ronronrícola", is a pun on Ronron, the spanish onomatopeia for a cat's murp, and Cavernícola, the spanish word for caveman.
