Kyubey Cat (Rare Cat)

Kyubey Cat is a Rare Cat added in Version 5.5 and is exclusive to the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Collaboration Event. This unit used to be a treasure drop in all versions of Witch's Labyrinth and can currently be obtained by beating any stage in Be a Magical Girl II.

Strategy/Usage

Normal Form

Very similar to Cat in terms of usage. Cheap and expendable, it can be summoned in masses to take hits in place of other, more important units. This meatshield role is quite valuable, if not for the wide selection of cats able to perform this role without relevant differences in quality. Kyubey Cat, however, is unique in that it can sometimes survive a lethal strike for a negligible extra cost of 15¢, plus it can be used in 4-crown stages, where there is considerably less competition. Both Mohawk Cat and Manic Mohawk Cat, even in endgame to a degree, have enough health to often survive a hit too while also having better stats overall, but against plenty of strong enemies or bosses, Kyubey Cat still offers the most protection of the three, allowing it to stay viable and always be worth considering, which is a rare thing.

Evolved Form

Kyubey Tank gains extra stats but less speed; however, this does not make it worth the cost increase, as its health still remains very low and even irrelevant during Uncanny Legends and other late parts of the game. Because of this, the Normal Form should always be used over the Evolved Form.
