Strategy/Usage
Lesser Demon Cat deals enormous DPS, but he's held back greatly by his single target attacks. To prevent this from being too big a problem, he should be paired with Long Distance, Shockwave or just Area Attack Cats (such as Crazed Gross or Paris), as he is very prone to missing his target, but not even them would save him from stages that spam enemies, such as Gestalt, Decay. His main use is killing powerful enemies fast, as long as they don't have much range, attack power or attack speed.
Additionally, Lesser Demon Cat has a quick cooldown, which usually means that a new Lesser Demon Cat will respawn on the field once the original one has died. On another note, this cat is Immune to Weaken, allowing him to be more effective against the few enemies with this ability, like Cli-One and Calamary.
Lastly, note that this unit relies a lot on his level, as increasing it gives him both more damage and more time to live and deliver that increased damage, plus more enemies he can tank enough to get a hit in.
True Form
Greater Balrog Cat has his stats improved. This allows him to not lose relevance in stages and it makes him usable and rather effective against certain Advent Stages.
Talents
Greater Balrog's health and damage alone, even when boosted, barely allow this unit to keep up with the increase in difficulty encountered in mid-late game stages, but talents have the potential of covering this gap.
The most important Talents are Beserker and Attack Up, as, with them, he can deal the most DPS in the game, but he still isn't guaranteed to land hits every time. Health Up and Wave Resist Talents can improve on this, allowing safer use in general and making him usable against dangerous wave enemies like Berserkory, Two Can, Youcan and even Hermit Cat.
Cost down is also a nice complement to this unit's short cooldown, but not as important.
Do keep in mind that without a full boost or highly-upgraded Talents, Greater Balrog's usefulness will still only be mediocre. Therefore, it is recommended that if you wish to invest in him, you go all the way and do your best to fully Talent him.

Balrog hops much higher too, and wears a necklace of skulls and a loincloth with mysterious boards attached to it. Attacks by swinging a larger club or torch-like object, with a flame at the end and a Cat which looks to be in agony.

Trivia
- Prior to Version 5.3.1, when he got immunity to weaken, Lesser Demon Cat used to be one of the few Uber Rares that lacked an ability.
- Lesser Demon Cat is very similar to a "Oni", a Japanese yōkai with a Kanabo as a weapon and two horns on its head.
- His first two forms' descriptions both have typos (unnecessary a before "demon").
- Balrog could be a reference to the fiery demon in The Lord of the Rings. Gandalf the Grey fought and defeated the Balrog in the abyss which lead to his ascension as Gandalf the White.
- Greater Balrog Cat with the 20% Attack Up & 200% Strengthen Talents has the highest DPS of all cat units. Producing up to 33,750 DPS (101,250 DPS when strengthened) at level 30, surpassing Awakened Bahamut Cat.
- When Lesser Demon Cat moves, he doesn't actually stay still, instead his sprite moves backwards to make it seem like he is still. This is more noticeable when he is slowed, The same is true for Kotatsu Cat.
- Prior to Version 10.2 of BCEN, Lesser Demon Cat's true form name was "Balrog Cat". It was most likely to prevent confusion with Balrog Cat from the Street Fighter collab, and other Cats named Balrog.
