Trivia[]

  • In the Japanese version, this stage takes place in Tottori Prefecture.
  • Madagascar's Treasure is an aye-aye, a species of primate native to Madagascar.
  • Tottori Prefecture's base looks like some kind of yōkai, a class of supernatural entities and phenomena in Japanese folklore. This may be an indirect reference to the GeGeGe no Kitarō franchise, which features many one-eyed yōkai and whose author, Shigeru Mizuki, grew up in Tottori. There's even a GeGeGe no Kitarō- and yōkai-themed road dedicated to him: Shigeru Mizuki Road.
    • The yōkai it most resembles is hitotsume-kozō, but there isn't anything in its folklore connecting it to Tottori Prefecture. Thus, it is more likely just a generic yōkai made as an allusion to GeGeGe no Kitarō.
