Maeda Keiji (Uber Rare Cat)

Maeda Keiji is an Uber Rare Cat that can be unlocked by playing the Rare Cat Capsule during the Sengoku Wargods Vajiras event. True form increases his health, range, attack rate, and triggers the strengthen ability when his health is below 50% instead of 30%.

Strategy/Usage

Keiji, being a tanky anti-Black cat, has a very good niche, as well as the addition of being immune to damage from shockwaves. His resistant to Black is very useful, seeing how all of the XP stages exclusively feature Black enemies, making him a mid-range tanker, allowing you to stall while gaining the money to send out other cats.

Where Keiji shines are in events and stages like Le'Grim Strikes, Black Premonition, Dark Descent and others.

Though his additional ability of being immune to waves is not as important, he is able to provide damage (with meatshielding) in stages exclusively featuring wave attackers. This also allows Keiji to become a prime counter to Two Can.

True Form

Immortal Keiji is able to deal a hefty amount of damage as well as being very tanky for his cost, plus he has great synergy with Bombercat. If you have any cats that have massive damage against Black enemies (ideally Ring Girl Cat/Pizza Cat), almost all of the XP Stages can be effectively cleared.

Talents

Keiji's talents are all very straight-forward. Resist weaken is situational and can be given the back seat, while everything else is a simple and direct improvement to Keiji's performance, but still nothing to scoff at. It is recommended to go for health first, as it directly impacts how long Keiji can stay on the field. However, Strengthen and Attack Up also improve Keiji’s usefulness by a wide margin, ensuring he deals more than significant damage before death.

Appearance

• Normal Form: Looks like a Bengal tiger and is carrying a large Japanese-style tobacco pipe. A small plant is growing on his head. There is a small cat on his left paw.
• Evolved Form: Now has a pink cherry tree on his head. The cherry tree drops pink flower blossoms. His tobacco pipe has been replaced with a larger axe. The small cat on his paw is still there.
• True Form: The pink cherry tree from Wargod Keiji appears to have been cut down, and is now being used as a weapon. The cat on his left paw has gained two stripes on the side of its face, and it bears the expression of the Crazed Cats (despite not actually being Crazed).

• Maeda Keiji was the nephew of Maeda Toshiie. Both were historical figures of the Sengoku period of feudal Japan.
• Prior to Version 4.0, Keiji lacked the strengthen ability.
• Prior to Version 9.7, Wargod Keiji did not have immunity to waves.
