Mami Cat is a Rare Cat that was implemented in Version 5.5 and can be obtained by playing the Rare Cat Capsule during the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Collaboration Event.

Strategy/Usage

Magical Girl Mami Cat, to put it simply, is not a very good unit. While she does have some promising things going for her, like having the same range as Cameraman Cat and having a good knockback count, she is held back heavily by her Single Target and the fact that a majority of Angels later on tend to outrange and swiftly kill her. Mami is best used in the early game against the occasional Angel enemies in Into the Future and Cats of the Cosmos, and can be stacked up to shred the Heavenly Hippoes and Angelic Gories that show up.

Unfortunately, Mami's viability falls off a cliff after that part of the game due to the abundance of Angels that she does horribly against, like Chickful A and Angelic Sleipnir. Mami eventually becomes only worth using against certain melee enemies like Boraphim and St. Dober, which against the latter is still risky since she only outranges St. Dober's omnistrike by 50, and a single surge from the heavenly dog can wipe out an entire stack.

However, what makes Mami obselete is that she is almost completely outclassed by Mushroom Cat. Mushroom has 40 more range, does more damage, and most importantly has area attack. The only redeeming quality Mami has over Mushroom is that she is more spammable than Mushroom, especially with research combos. This is still nowhere near enough to make Mami worth using in a lineup over Mushroom. Cafeteria Cat and Bubble Cat also outperform Mami in her niche while also filling their own roles in the process.

Appearance

• Normal Form: A cat with curly blonde hair, in twin drills, wearing a yellow school uniform similar to the ones in the show.
• Evolved Form: Cat now wears a beige skirt, short-sleeved white shirt with puffs, small brown hat with white fur, and a shotgun in the right hand.
