Master A. (師匠 Shishō, Master) is a Traitless enemy that appears in Legend Stages and The Aku Realms.
Enemy[]
Master A. dishes out rapid Area Attacks from 451 range through a literal tongue-lashing. Although his damage per hit tends to be relatively low, he can often stunlock units he outranges by continually knocking them back before they can reach him, while eating through meatshields with ease. However, this leaves him open to attack from units that aren't knocked back easily. In later stages, he will be magnified heavily and will mostly be used as support instead of the main threat.
Strategy[]
Master A. is protected by a legion of Those Guys and Crocos in his first appearance, Tapas Desert. While this may sound counterintuitive, it is recommended to let him get close to the Cat Base, then fire the Cat Cannon so your attackers can reach him before more peons get in the way.
If you don't have units that outrange him, use bulky cats such as Artist Cat and Mythical Titan Cat or Crazed Titan Cat to deal damage, Long Distance/Wave/Surge Attackers such as Polevaulter Cat or Crazed Sexy Legs Cat to snipe him if there are other enemies to trigger their attacks, or use fast units such as Giraffe Cat and Butterfly Cat when there are fewer peons. In later stages, Long Distance, Waves and Surges will be your primary means of defeating him, as he is accompanied by more powerful support, like R.Osts and Rain Ds.
Cats with very high range like Hacker Cat and Dark Emperor Catdam can attack with impunity and will easily take down Master A. given enough time.
Crazed Bahamut Cat will do no good, since Master A. has more range than him by just a fraction. Awakened Bahamut Cat fares better, as he can quickly rush in and inflict massive damage. Master A. deals constant, fairly low damage, and will trigger Awakened Bahamut's many knockbacks, which will result in an immediate counterattack, but will also be his downfall if the Master A. in question is buffed enough to knockback Awakened Bahamut with each attack, rendering him useless unless aided by anti-Traitless crowd-control units or Thunderbolt Cannon.

Variants[]
| Name | Appearance | Information |
|---|---|---|
| Teacher A | An event enemy first seen in the Teacher! It's Spring! monthly event. Can slow down Cat Units, but has 100 less range. | |
| Professor A. | A Red variant of Master A. He has even longer range, higher damage and very high health. Just like Teacher A., he has a chance to slow your cats. | |
| Project A | A Starred Alien variant of Master A. He has a chance to warp cats backward with each hit, but is weaker in terms of stats. | |
| Vermilingua Rangmaster | An Aku/Behemoth variant of Master A. He has a longer backswing and stands at 300 range, but his Omni Strikes hit up to 350. He's immune to waves and knockback, with extreme health, damage and a resilient Shield that regenerates several times. |

Trivia[]
- Even though his and Project A's Japanese names can both be translated as "Master", they aren't quite the same: Master A. is 師匠 Shishō, which is closer to "instructor", while Project A is 巨匠 Kyoshō, meaning "master of an art/craft".
- Master A. and his variants' descriptions follow a theme of having dark thoughts and schemes that they often fail to execute one way or the other. In the Korean version, Professor A. is even stated to be on the way to becoming a wizard, as in the Internet slang term "wizard" referring to a virgin over the age of 30.
- Despite being the fourth Stories of Legend enemy encountered, Master A. has the lowest ID out of all of them, which suggests that the first thing PONOS set out to do when creating new enemies for Legend Stages was ensure Bahamut Cat wouldn't be the answer to everything.
