Strategy/Usage[]
This unit is similar to Sniper the Cat in that it sits behind the Cat Base and knocks back enemies. The differences are that Paragon Cat has much lower range and is ineffective against Traitless enemies and Knockback-immune enemies. While not entirely useless on stages featuring Long Distance attacks, Wave Attacks, or Surge Attacks, using Paragon Cat on said stages is risky since they can be sniped if the enemies are too close to the Cat Base. Wave Shields can at least help alleviate the risk on Wave stages.
Due to how units get sent out, it can only hit enemies that are up to 500px away from the Cat Base, meaning it will be useless against enemies with a range higher than 500, like Camelle and his variants. It also fares very poorly on Duel Stages and Tag Arena stages, or other levels where there is a restriction on how many Cat Units can be sent out.
That being said, it works very well on stages where enemies have to be fought close to the Cat Base, such as due to a Doge Base or Surge Base, or stages with very few peons to get in the way, like Kugel Schreiber. It also excels in Zombie-heavy stages, where it can easily knock away any threatening Zombies that burrow close to your base. It pairs exceptionally with the default Cat Cannon or a Wave Attacker to clear weak enemies so it doesn't waste an attack.
There is not much point stacking this cat, since most enemies will be knocked out of its range, which will cause their attacks to sync. Do not fill the Cat Limit with this unit, as that will leave you unable to damage the enemy base.

Trivia[]
- Meditation Cat may be based on the idiom ishi no ue ni mo sannen (石の上にも三年, "three years on a stone"), which is to say that no matter how difficult something is, it can eventually be achieved with enough patience.
- Meditation Cat's description begins in the form of Nazokake (謎掛け), a word game where you find the similarity between two named things.
- This is actually PONOS' second take on a completely unmoving "base defender" unit. The first was The Bird That Takes One Step a Millennium, one of the most prevalently used Uber Rare units in YuruGeGe. While this Uber had a blind spot and took nearly 10 minutes to recharge, it also had exceptional damage (102,000 at level 30) and reach (450~2700), Area Attack, and a cost of only 1,002, making it extremely valuable as a stackable base defender in levels with non-timed bosses, or to be saved up like the Cat Cannon until a group of dangerous enemies appeared, especially in levels that rushed players with such enemies at the beginning. Perhaps to avoid creating such a versatile unit again, Meditation Cat is given many disadvantages that its predecessor lacked, namely Single Attack and an extremely low damage output that makes it almost pointless to stack.
- The Iron Wall Cat, Meditation Cat and Cheetah Cat are the only units with 0 speed.
- The Iron Wall Cat and Meditation Cat are also the first and only non-conjured units to be Immune to Boss Shockwaves.
