Mekako Saionji (Uber Rare Cat)

Mekako Saionji is an Uber Rare Cat that can be unlocked by playing the Rare Cat Capsule during the Dark Heroes event. True Form gains massive damage against Aliens and a 100% chance to slow Aliens.

Evolution

Evolves into Dr. Mekako at level 10.

Evolves into Mission Control Mekako at level 30 using Catfruit.

Performance

Pros

• Survives a lethal strike and is resistant to Alien enemies and Black enemies. [Normal]
• Has a chance to knock back and weaken Alien enemies. [Evolved]
• Deals massive damage to Alien Enemies, as well as a 100% chance to slow them. [True]
• Very high health, especially against Alien and Black Enemies in Normal Form.

Cons

• Mediocre DPS against non-Alien Enemies in True Form.
• High cost

Strategy/Usage

Mekako has drastically changing gameplay styles throughout each of her forms, each one being based around aliens. She doesn’t have any stat boosts throughout forms, so use whichever style you want if you’re using her for generalist purposes.

Speaking of those generalist purposes, she is outclassable, but 4.7k DPS and 445 range is enough to get things done. You don’t need to use her as a generalist, but you shouldn’t avoid doing so either. She’s pretty decent!

Normal Form

Mekako in her normal gear functions as a tanker. Unlike the other forms, this one targets a second trait, those being black enemies. While tanking aliens is hard when you don’t have immunities, and tanking blacks is hard when you’re able to be crushed easily, she definitely works. Her survivor ability works especially well with her this form, allowing her to continue using her DPS. Overall, a decent anti-alien/anti-black.

Evolved Form

Mekako changes her usage form a tanker to a crowd-controller. While knocking back aliens seems troublesome, Mekako also has the chance to weakening them. That, and given her good ranges, makes Mizli Syndrome less painful. She’s still not worth using over the unevolved form, though. That ability still doesn’t make her viable against aliens. All in all, try not to use it too much.

True Form

Hoo boy, this one’s the real kicker. Mekako, now with a better crowd-controlling ability, also gets massive damage to aliens as well. Her great range and better abilities make her a beast against aliens. It’s worth getting the true form, mainly because of the better compatibility with aliens. Arguably, the compatibility is spectacular instead of just “better”, and Mekako can easily become a go-to anti-alien.

Talents

While giving Mekako Knockback again stiffens a whole lot of usage, giving her weaken and survive back sure doesn’t. In fact, now she has the chance to become the ultimate crowd controlling anti-alien. Slow, combined with massive damage, combined with potential weaken gives her such good usage against aliens that it’s absurd. She has enough distance to avoid certain warp units, so her usability against starred aliens is also very good.

Because her generalist usage was decent before, the attack and health boosts won’t go to waste, even if they’d be way better else where. It’s worth getting the true form for what it offers, but the talents make it even more worth it.

Appearance

• Normal Form: A girl with a wrench and a cat on her head riding a mech, the body of which is made out of what seems to be a truck, rockets and cannons. The girl's shirt appears to be undone. Attacks by launching missiles.
• Evolved Form: Mekako now wears an outfit which slightly resembles her original one, but now looks more like a pilot and has darker clothes. She now holds a screwdriver. The mech is taller, fancier, has four jet fans, and attacks by firing plasma out of the fans. It is now black.
• True Form: The mech now resembles a spacecraft, and attacks by launching a rocket. The cat riding on her head now floats behind the mech on a cable, while Mekako herself now has a spacesuit on.
