Strategy[]

Messier isn't actually very threatening due to the slow attack rate, but the nasty peons can be a handful and become outright deadly if her Omni Strike catches many of your units at once. For this reason, disposable specialists capable of removing them are necessary to make them manageable.

Recommended Units[]

  • Fishman - Fishman's very high speed (works even without Talents) works well with its low cooldown and cost, not to mention its massive damage ability against Floating enemies. It can easily exploit openings between Messier's attacks and quickly deal heavy damage from there. When used properly, Fishman can even finish Messier before the stage becomes too difficult.
  • Can Can - Can Can requires the Move Speed Up and Extra Money Talents to be worthwhile, able to also deal heavy damage and snipe Gabriels for additional resources.
  • Cyberpunk - Cyberpunk can be used as a support unit to delay all threats in the stage with his AOE LD attacks that slow them on hit for up to 4 seconds when Talented. As long as they're kept within range, They shouldn't be able to advance much.
  • Stone - Stone can be used as a supplementary meatshield to bait Messier's attacks while also blocking the peons, as despite only persisting briefly, its extreme health ensures nothing gets by.
  • Pizza - Pizza's good stats and massive damage to Black enemies combined means despite its slow speed, it can often survive a Messier hit (before Strengthen activation) get a clean hit or two on Shadow Boxer K (especially with the Wave Attack Talent), gravely damaging if not outright killing her.

Recommended Ubers[]

  • Cradle - Cradle has 30% chance to knockback Floating enemies and has 100% chance to produce a Level 2 Wave Attack. Due to this unit's low cooldown and cost for its high stats, it can be used for occasional damage bursts and may even recover ground. Since many peons in the stage are pretty tanky, getting a hit off wouldn't be hard either.
  • Immortal Yukimura/Count Yukimura - Yukimura and his Halloween variant both have the massive damage ability, targeting Black and Floating enemies respectively. As disposable rushers with good stats and low cooldown, they can be used to great effect against their target traits.
  • Lufalan Pasalan - Lufalan is able to outrange Messier's Omni Strike (720 vs 600) and deals heavy damage, with critical hits to dramatically speed up the fight. Its long cooldown, low health and single target however mean it is best used when Messier's closer to the cat base, buying time for it to deal extra damage before the peons get in the way. Even if they do, however, Lufalan's damage isn't wasted as Shadow Boxer K and Heavenly Hippoe are both resilient.
  • Greater Balrog Cat - Greater Balrog should be fully Talented save for Wave Resist. As a disposable single-target melee attacker, Greater Balrog's extreme damage output should not be dismissed. When strengthened, he can destroy any peon very quickly, buying additional time to damage or even destroy Messier.
  • Kasa Jizo - Kasa Jizo's first form is rather useful, being a disposable midranger with decent stats, low cost and cooldown with massive damage against Angels and Blacks.

Strategy 1 (works for all levels)[]

Lineup: Cyberpunk (30, Slow Talent 10), Sniper the Heavy, Can Can Cat (35), Fishman Cat (46), Wrestling Cat, Manic Eraser Cat, Manic Mohawk Cat, Ramen Cat (50, Defense Buff Talent 10), Cameraman Cat (40+24, Survives Talent 10), Pizza Cat (52, Wave Attack Talent 10).

Cannon: Breakerblast

It is still possible to still complete Lv20 with lower levels, but it's recommended to make up for them with a stronger Can Can, a Rich Cat or more Talents. Cyberpunk's Cost Down, Attack Buff and Survives Talents aren't required, but could help greatly. The same is true of Pizza Cat's Defense Buff and Cost Down, Fishman Cat's Slow and Can Can's Defense and Attack Buffs.

Sniper the Heavy may be replaced by an Uber Rare of your choice.

Battle: Start with a Fishman Cat as soon as you can. Fishman Cat will keep the boss at her base for a short time, while you upgrade the Worker Cat to level 3. After the first Gabriel comes out, summon 3-4 Manic Erasers and a single Can Can Cat, then spawn some Ramen Cats and Cameraman Cats to take out the Heavenly Hippoe. At this point you will get enough money for Cyberpunk Cat, so summon him. Shortly afterwards, you'll have to be ready to summon Pizza Cat and deal with the first Shadow Boxer K. From this point on:

  • When there is no Shadow Boxer K on screen: Spam Ramens, Cameramen and Can Cans, send a Fishman after Messier's attacks and use the Cat Cannon to interrupt said attack every time it's ready. You can summon Cyberpunk and Sniper the Heavy whenever you can afford them.
  • When there is a Shadow Boxer K on screen: Spam all 3 meatshields and Cameramen, do not spend money on Cyberpunk or Sniper unless you have way too much and try to time Pizza Cat so he doesn't die too quickly. With some luck, Shadow Boxer K should die relatively quickly, and if not, the Cameraman stack should, at least, prevent her from pushing too much.

The process becomes harder once Messier's Strengthen ability is activated. It shouldn't be an issue if you have two Cyberpunks; just don't panic and keep doing the same thing. The only exception is the Cannon, which should only be used when Messier gets too close to the base or the Cyberpunks (unless Cyberpunk Cat's Survives Talent has been unlocked).
