- This article is about the Cat Unit. For the enemy unit, see Mola King (Enemy).
Mola King is an Uber Rare Cat that can be unlocked by rolling in the Rare Cat Capsule during the Survive! Mola Mola! collaboration event. A True Form was added in Version 9.4 in the Japanese version and Version 10.4 globally, giving Mola King increased range. Talents were added in Version 12.5.

Strategy/Usage[]
Generally speaking, there is little point in deploying Mola King, as his attack power is mediocre, especially for his cost. He is effectively guaranteed to die in one hit from any attack, and lacks any form of special ability to offset his staggering weaknesses. His only redeeming traits are his range and recharge time, though considering how easily he dies, the player likely won't be able to stack him unless the enemy is well crowd-controlled or is short ranged.
His DPS is even lower than Bahamut Cat and Ururun Wolf (pre-True Forms), despite the fact that both of these units are free units who have far better survivability than Mola King. While Mola King may have a range advantage, there are a mere handful of enemies which outrange Bahamut and Ururun, but not Mola King, so this strength is unlikely to make a worthwhile difference in most stages.
Reconsidering Mola King from another perspective and asking: "Would he be good for beginners?" does not help him at all either. Despite his pathetic stats for an Uber Rare, Mola King still has the same cost as any other Uber Rare from the standard sets, making him as costly as any other Uber to upgrade, with none of the health or attack boosts that would be gained in light of equivalent exchange. It is recommended, especially for beginners, to give priority to certain Rare and Super Rare cats when it comes to spending XP, as this unit only drains XP for little return, if invested in.
True Form[]
Master of the Pacific, despite improving the range considerably, ultimately changes little about his usefulness. As before, Master of the Pacific's DPS is only slightly higher than Schoolbus Nyandam, who equals him in range, has more survivability and a chance to slow all enemies. Unless one really needs a unit with a lot of range, this True Form will not be worth the Epic Catfruit, which is better spent on most Super Rares and Ubers that are not this.
Talents[]
Master of the Pacific gains 3 talents, being Dodge, Mini-Surge, and Attack Up. Attack Up is a guaranteed talent to max out on, as Master of the Pacific gains up to 20% increase to his base damage. Mini-Surge can also help Master of the Pacific be able to pierce through enemies having a spawn range of 500~1,000. This can be useful if you are looking to chip damage an enemy that is guarded by peons; however, if you are hoping that the surge lands on a specific enemy it can be very difficult as it has to be just outside Master of the Pacific's range in order to get a chance of gaining that extra 100% damage, otherwise it will be in the mini-surge's blind spot or be overshot and miss the enemy entirely.
Dodge is very interesting, having an activation chance of 80%, but it lasting for only 1 second. This can, in theory, make Master of the Pacific invincible through the entirety of the stage due to the high chance of dodge, but in order to make that happen, a lot of NP must be spent in order to invest in such high chances and you still risk losing him 20% each time he gets hit. Overall, the unit has somewhat improved, gaining near invincibility, a piercing mini-surge, and an attack up talent, but there has to be a huge investment towards dodge and mini-surge to get a benefit out of it.

Appearance[]

- Evolved Form: Resembles Living Legend's appearance in Survive! Mola Mola. Appears to be the same fish with corals around the crown and with a slightly lighter shade of blue. The fish now has 9 parasites visible and fish are attached to it. It also has a scar behind its fin.
- True Form: Resembles Pacific Ocean King's appearance in Survive! Mola Mola. Appears to be a similar, yet longer and shorter, fish, and loses its crown, coral, fish, and parasites in replacement of a golden aura, whilst keeping the same scar present in its evolved form.

Trivia[]
- Mola King directly evolves into Living Legend, as opposed to first evolving into Aquarium King as it would in Survive! Mola Mola.
- This inconsistency is repeated once again, as the true form, Pacific Ocean King, isn't reachable by evolving from Living Legend, but from the Voyager, which is an entirely alternate evolution to the Living Legend. Once the player evolves from Aquarium King, he is asked what, as a Mola Mola, should be the most important thing in their life: Living Legend is reached by choosing "Blessings", but Voyager is reached by choosing "Freedom and Hope". The Living Legend, upon evolution, dies of old age, making the evolution sequence in The Battle Cats quite different from the one in Survive! Mola Mola!
- Its low HP is a clear reference to how easily sunfish die (which is also a running gag and main story driver of Survive! Mola Mola where the main objective is to avoid killing the sunfish).
- Master of the Pacific is the second ever unit to receive the Dodge Talent where it increases the chance instead of duration, the first being Nekoluga.
