Mooth (ガガガガ, Gagagaga, Mothmothmothmoth) is a Floating enemy that appears in the Main Chapters and Legend Stages.
Enemy[]
Mooth is a mid-ranged enemy with only one knockback, a fast attack rate, good speed, as well as decently high stats. This often means he can push easily and proves difficult to fight off for newer players.
In Legend Stages, Mooth's position as a threatening backline enemy is quickly stolen by Owlbrow, an enemy who behaves similarly to Mooth but moves slower and has more attack power in proportion to his health. You'll still be seeing plenty of Mooths in your adventures, because this enemy drops a large amount of money when defeated, and many stages later in the game still use it as a money provider.
Strategy[]
If you have trouble with Mooth, use Cats and Tank Cats to stall him, then deploy strong attackers like Titan Cat or long-ranged cats like Lizard Cat. A good method to defeat Mooth is to overwhelm him with fast-hitting units, like Cow Cat. This enemy is Floating, so ranged anti-Floating Cats or Swimmer Cat can be useful against him.
Later in the game, Mooth mainly acts as a money source (i.e. Draconian) or a wall to not let your meatshields pass, more than an attacker. Beyond that, he's only relevant when paired with Metal Enemies, as in Blockchain Twilight.

Variants[]
Name | Appearance | Information |
---|---|---|
Maawth | Alien version of Mooth. He is stronger, has longer range (370) and 30% chance to freeze Cat Units for 2 seconds. | |
Othom | Relic version of Mooth. Far stronger, with an Omni Strike hitting up to 440 range and a guaranteed chance to curse Cat Units for 2 seconds, but has relatively low damage for a Relic. | |
Sister Lione | An enemy first seen in Another New Year. Has more health and range, plus a guaranteed chance to weaken Cat Units' attack power to 50%, with many knockbacks, but slower. | |
Mega-Mooth | A Colossal variant only found in Mega Menace. Similar to Othom, but stands at 370 and hits up to 470, and 100% chance to knockback cats that survive his attacks. Starts out weak, but receives massive buffs in later stages. |

Existence Elsewhere[]
Kumanchu Royale[]
Mooth was originally from Kumanchu Royale, along with Mr. Mer and the Traitless Sleipnir that Angelic Sleipnir is a variant of. His name was still Gagagaga (ガガガガ), but his Enemy Guide entry was significantly different:
Description | Translation |
---|---|
将来美しいチョウになるんような
子供を産むために婚活に明け暮れるガ。 「ガ」が理由でぐれてしまった自分と 同じ人生を歩まないよ願っている。 |
This moth spends all his time marriage-hunting to have a child who will become a beautiful butterfly in the future.
He's hoping his kid won't live the same life he did, straying into delinquency because he's a "moth". |
Nyanko Daibōsō[]
Mooth appeared as a regular enemy in Nyanko Daibōsō.

Trivia[]
- Ga (ガ) can mean "moth", so his Japanese name, Gagagaga (ガガガガ), literally translates to "Moth" being repeated four times. Most of his variants follow a similar naming scheme as well:
- Othom's Japanese name, Chō Chōchō (超町長), is a pun that doesn't translate well to English: chō (蝶) can mean "butterfly", but the way Othom's name is spelled literally translates to "Super Mayor".
- Sister Lione's Japanese name, Shishi Shimai (獅子姉妹), repeats the syllable shi three times but uses a different kanji for each one, literally translating to "Lion Sister" or "Sister Lion".
- Mega-Mooth's Japanese name, Gigagaga (ギガガガ), simply combines the prefix giga- with Gagagaga.
- It is heavily implied that the Mooth in The Battle Cats is the son of the Mooth in Kumanchu Royale. The Battle Cats Mooth's Japanese description says he was hoping to become a beautiful butterfly in the future and was once a delinquent, while the Kumanchu Royale Mooth's description says he hopes his child becomes a beautiful butterfly in the future without becoming a delinquent, instead of living the same life as its father.
- He is the first Floating enemy encountered in-game, but not the first in the series - that honor goes to The Face, who appeared in Ganso!! Nyanko Daisensou, unlike Mooth who was introduced in Kumanchu Royale.
- All Mooth variants have the exact same delay between attacks, foreswing, and backswing.
