Mr. Mer's fast attack rate, high damage, decent range, massive health and only one knockback makes him pretty threatening, and if that wasn't enough, his Level 3 Mini-Waves can quickly compound your problems by slowly chipping your other units behind, especially when he appears with other threats.
Strategy[]
Mr. Mer's very high damage and above average range means melee units can be outright unusable, and it's optimal to employ Wave Shields that outrange him, or Wave-Immune units to dismiss them. Since he is still vunlerable to crowd-controlling effects, the likes of Macho Crystal Cat and Tourist Cat can be handy. Lord of Ruin Jagando Jr. is also an effective counter, as he outranges Mr. Mer, while his Strong and Knockback abilities against Traitless mean he can survive for much longer in spite of the Mini-Waves and consistently push Mr. Mer, all while dealing extra damage.

Existence Elsewhere[]
Kumanchu Royale[]
Along with Mooth and the Traitless Sleipnir that Angelic Sleipnir is a variant of, Mr. Mer was originally from Kumanchu Royale, with much weaker stats and no Mini-Waves. His name and the first sentence in his Enemy Guide entry were the same, but the second sentence of his description was slightly different: instead of warning of his Mini-Waves, it said, "A dangerous guy who attacks multiple units at once", (一度に複数体をまとめて攻撃してくる危険なやつ), which is a reused line from Hippoe's Japanese description.

Trivia[]
His animations are unchanged from Kumanchu Royale, hence why they're so stiff compared to other Legend Stages enemies.
His design is based on the Merlion statues commonly found in Singapore in real life.
