Nekoluga is an Uber Rare Cat that was introduced in Version 2.0 and can be unlocked by playing the Rare Cat Capsule during the Tales of the Nekoluga event. True Form added in Version 5.0 greatly increases his attack power and gives him the ability to freeze any non-Metal enemy. Strategy/Usage[]
Normal Form[]
This form is useless by design. Similarly to the other cats from Tales of the Nekoluga, this cat is not meant to be used until it evolves.
Evolved Form[]
Unknown Cat is a support unit, able to stall the advance of many enemies with a knockback effect. Using and protecting him well will result in him being able to throw massive punches that send enemies flying. Do note, however, that Unknown Cat is quite fragile compared to other Uber Rares and has a very long cooldown. You'll regret it if you don't protect him properly, such as with a steady stream of Eraser Cats and Crazed Walls. Unknown Cat pairs very well with Sniper the Heavy. Sniper can power up Unknown Cat's knockback effect, allowing the two of them together to keep enemies pinned against their base (although do note that Sniper the Heavy may make Unknown Cat miss).
Like all knockback units, it can be suicidal to use Unknown Cat on some stages, as Unknown Cat, despite its massive range, can unintentionally push only enemy frontliners, resulting in your other units being destroyed easily by enemy rangers. This can be the case in Vulcanizer and Unjust War.
True Form[]
Ultralan Pasalan has an increased aggressive side, with his damage boost and freeze ability. His increased attack power lets him clear annoying peons within a very long range. His guaranteed knockback ability is very useful in Dark Souls and Absolute Defence, and when used properly, it can sometimes even knock a boss back behind their base so that you may destroy the base first and finish the stage without having to fight an overly powerful boss with a massive pool of HP. Of course, his very slow cooldown remains.
Talents[]
There isn't much to say about this unit's talents. Since this cat has a long recharge, 600¢ less cost is not going to make any difference, at least not one worth 175 NP on. Attack and health improvements are wasted on a unit with weak stats, while wave resistance would be nice for some stray waves... if not for the fact that Ultralan is too frail to be worth using against wave units in the first place. Freeze Up is a direct improvement, so go for that if you wish to improve this unit, just keep in mind that you would be spending a lot of NP for just one more second of freeze.
Ultra Talents[]
Ultralan Pasalan's Ultra Talents are in general surprisingly good, but what they have to offer cannot offset the extreme costs.
Given how fragile Ultralan Pasalan is, Surge Immunity does help against any surge-heavy stage, or even carry them with a proper anti-surge team. This is indeed valuable, but is mostly outclassed by the existence of various other, cheaper and more accessible alternatives. Similarly, Survive works just as well with its extreme cooldown, but requires a heavy investment to simply obtain a mediocre result.
Like any other dodge-focused unit with long cooldowns, the Dodge Attack ability is not very useful, even with a 50% activation chance when fully levelled up it only lasts for a single second. Ultralan's long cooldown and low health means as soon as enemies get to it, the unit has no hopes of getting them off easily, so it adds nothing to what it does already.

Trivia[]
- Unknown Cat is the only evolved Luga to not follow the naming scheme of the others ([prefix]lan Pasalan).
- However, during the Great Nyanko Tournament, Unknown Cat is revealed as "Kesalan Pasalan". This also gets reused in The Battle Cats Unite.
- Nekoluga was the first Uber Rare Cat added to the game and was also the first unit to have a 100% chance to do an ability, Knockback in his case.
- According to his design, name and description, Ultralan Pasalan is a reference to a kid-loved Japanese Fictional Gigantic Masked Hero, Ultraman.
- The word "neko" is Japanese for "cat". The reason that Nekoluga has this name is probably due to the fact that he is the mascot of all Nekolugas.
- If observed closely, Ultralan Pasalan's "heart" glows red when he is knocked back or killed, just like how Ultraman's "heart" also glows red when his energy is running out.
- Nekoluga and Balaluga are currently the only Lugas to have a seasonal counterpart, that being Summerluga and Betrothed Balaluga.
- Nekoluga and Togeluga are the only two units to have their gender shown in the banner tab.
- Ultralan Pasalan and Master of the Pacific are the only units with Dodge Attack Talents that increases the effect's chance instead of its duration.
- In The Battle Cats Unite!, Nekoluga's description is replaced with Asiluga's normal form.
