Strategy/Usage[]
Nymph Cat's primary use is to inflict long-ranged Area Attacks, as she lacks any other Special Abilities. Compared to Vaulter Cat, her health and standing range are lower and she has a larger blind spot, but she inflicts more damage, attacks faster and more frequently, costs slightly less and recharges slightly faster, basically acting as a more aggressive version of Vaulter. As is the case with most Long Distance Cats, defending her should be a priority. The use of meatshields or tanks who let enemy frontliners live to act as stepping stones is most recommended when using this unit.
True Form[]
Nymph's previously pathetic survivability is much improved by an increase of health by more than 50% in True Form. This makes Fiend Cat's usage as an individual unit even better than before, but as with other forms should not be freely sent without any forethought. His original usage as a Long Distance rusher is drastically improved, allowing him the possibility of sneaking into the range of a tough backliner, and dealing damage to them a few times.
Against Aku, Fiend Cat might be used to gain terrain on heavily Shielded bosses while their Shields are down and can be quite effective against the Aku Cyclone, although he generally tends to struggle against them due to low health, and some Aku enemies having Surge Attacks or another type of piercing range. Beware that Fiend Cat does not have Shield Piercing – you will need the backup of Shield Piercing Cats in order to fulfill his potential as a sniper.
Talents[]
Tough Vs can increase Fiend Cat's survivability even more. While he normally likes to stay away from danger with his Long Distance, this Talent can give him more of a fighting chance whenever Aku enemies do push into his blind spot. Target Angel on the other hand, means that Fiend Cat can not only tank more hits from aggressive Angel pushers, but also push them back with a Long Distance attack that can possibly work against the likes of even Angelic Sleipnir, making him ten thousand times better an investment than his Rare counterpart, Acrobat Cats. Due to their lack of Shields, Angel enemies are more vulnerable to Fiend Cat's knockbacks than Aku enemies, so consider this Talent a high priority.
Attack Buff and Defense Buff are decent abilities. However, like with most other units, the Catseye route should take priority over these Talents. Additionally, the Tough Vs Talent should obviously be unlocked before even considering the Defense Buff Talent. If you are especially fond of using him, then deciding to invest into either of these will massively increase his usage by increasing the margin of DPS per stack, which synergises particularly well if you boost him in addition to that investment.
Resist Slow is a situational ability. It could potentially see some use against Condemned Peng, but Fiend Cat doesn't last long enough for this Talent to be worthwhile and all other Aku/Angel enemies with the Slow ability outrange Fiend and can kill him in one hit. Overall, do not invest in this ability.
As a whole, his Talents are a significant improvement for an already situationally outclassed if not good unit to begin with, and can be considered a worthy use of your NP.

Trivia[]
- Nymph Cat and its various forms are based on the well known fable of the honest woodcutter. What remains consistent across its many variations is that a woodcutter lost his axe in water, then a mystical entity surfaces, holding a golden and silver axe, which he denies ownership of. When he is offered his own axe, he claims it, and was additionally given the other two axes as a reward for his honesty. Later on, less scrupulous individuals attempt the same thing, but lie, thus receiving nothing. The specific version referenced by this unit and her Japanese description involves a Nymph presenting both the valuable axes at once.
