Pied Piper Cat (Rare Cat)

Pied Piper Cat is a Rare Cat added in Version 10.9 who can be unlocked when beating the Advent Stage Temptation's Symphony appearing on the 9th, 10th, 23rd, and 24th of every month. Its True Form was added in version 14.4.

Strategy/Usage

Pied Piper Cat is essentially an Aku-specific Thaumaturge Cat, meaning that his use in that matter is heavily replaceable. Along with that, his horrendous survivability makes him quite hard to stack. Pied Piper Cat's only advantage over Thaumaturge Cat is shorter foreswing, and even this advantage means little when considering that Pied Piper Cat doesn't even have 100% uptime on his weaken. Additionally, as many Aku enemies are safe behind a Shield, his Weaken chance effectively drops to 40% or depends on another unit to pierce that shield.

While his decent Shield-Breaking capabilities may sound appealing, his terrible health and subpar range make him a bad choice when it comes to that matter. Aku Researcher and Talented Li'l Macho Legs Cat simply perform better in almost all areas. Aku Researcher in particular has similar shield-breaking chances when you count in TBA but with much better range and animation. This unit is still usable against short-ranged Aku Enemies such as Aku Gory, but his lack of survivability really takes its toll and makes this unit a bad one overall.

In a cruel twist of irony, Pied Piper Cat comes from a challenging Aku stage. Any players who can beat that stage without this underwhelming Cat Unit have barely any need for him.

True Form

With this new form, Pied Piper Cat obtains a big health boost alongside a noticeable movement speed boost, an increase chance to pierce Shields and a new ability to create mini-waves of lv 2 50% of the time. a truly needed upgrade for a cat unit to standout itself from his peers as an affordable shield piercer with more personality than a simple aku-specific Thaumaturge cat.

First off, his increase in health over ~2.14x allows him to take many more hits than his previous forms, allowing for better surviving on the battlefield, alongside his speed boost which allow better stackability and reaching the front lines easier than before.

Secondly, his increase chance of piercing shield just makes him better at what he already was previously made to do, break shields for himself and other cat units to land their hit. from 40% to 60% proc chance makes him a more viable pick when the efforts of others shield piercers units can't make it. Sadly, even with the increase chance, Brass cat with his single attack stay subpar compared to other more trustworthy shield breaker cat units.

However, Thirdly, his new ability of creating lv 2 mini-waves at 50% chance makes his single attack turn on a dime, or rather, on a coin flip! With this ability, which really is his best addition to his true form, allows him to reach backline aku units who could have shield or have strong attacks by attacking the frontline peons and weakening both backline and frontline at once with a chance of breaking all their shields, allowing him to really outshine in levels where the aku is using numbers to overwhelm the player.
