Strategy/Usage[]
Pogo Cat exists mainly to take hits in place of other units, like Tank Cat. The difference comes from Pogo Cat costing a lot more, but he can survive anyone's attacks thanks to his Survive ability. In practice, his cost isn't worth the resulting effect, making his use recommended only as a replacement for Cat in stages with an overabundance of money.
This unit also delivers high damage for what he is, which allows him to be more desirable as a meatshield in certain occasions, but it is usually much better to let Tank Cat defend and your attackers of choice do the damage.
The most notable Cat Combo that Pogo has is named Tiny Ancient Hunt, with Li'l Dragon Cat. It proves as a great combo as not only does it give an small attack buff for only 2 slots, but both the units in the combo are actually useful in battle (most of the time). The other cat combo, Pyon Pyon for Two, is not as usable as the other the previous Cat Combo mentioned, but it has its uses in metal stages for example.
True Form[]
Jiangshi Cat becomes way better at what he does, as he can now survive attacks every time and costs less. Although he is still too expensive to be used on everyday situations, he can become a valuable asset in situations where units have no chance of tanking hits, or where holding the position becomes important.
He shines on levels where enemies drop tons of money or have slow, long range hitters, such as Nyandam or THE SLOTH, against whom he can pile up damage while guaranteeing some sort of defence line stay after the attack. He is also good on most Cyclone stages, as every meatshield will only survive one hit anyways.
Talents[]
The story changes when this unit receives talents. Speed is the most important, as it allows Jiangshi to get in the way of enemies way more easily, plus he can hope to deliver his pretty good DPS on slow hitters for far longer. This makes him more aggressive and better at keeping the enemies busy. Damage and health up are good talents if your Jiangshi has a decent level, as they allow him to survive attacks and leave a bigger impact with his attacks more often, but going further than level 5 may not be worth it. Resist slow is a good improvement that extends Jiangshi's usability, especially since the effect would likely run out while he's being knocked back in most cases, causing it to act like an immunity.
The Resist Wave talent will rarely come into play; plus simply reducing wave damage is pointless since the Survive ability leaves Jiangshi at 1 health.
Orb[]
Leave the slot empty, as the boost on a generalist such as Jiangshi would be negligible.

Trivia[]
- Version 3.0 of The Battle Cats gave him the ability to survive a lethal strike.
- Prior to Version 4.7, Pogo Cat was a part of six other Cat Combos: Boing Boing, Cosplayers, With a View, Nostalgia, Face Paint and Valorous.
- If all of its combos had been kept, Pogo Cat would be tied with Ururun Wolf for having the most Cat Combos in the game.
- Pogo Cat has his very own game in the form of Go! Go! Pogo Cat.
- The symbol written in the middle of Jiangshi Cat's talisman is 二 above a 2. The symbol also translates to 2.
- The Masai (pronounced mas-eye) is an ethnic group in Kenya, which is well-known for their jumping tribal dance.
- Jiangshi(僵尸) refers to a type of stiff (jiang), reanimated corpse in Chinese folklore, sometimes called "hopping vampires" by those unfamiliar with the concept. The main feature of a Jiangshi is hopping around while dressed in Qing dynasty garments and having a paper seal on the head. They are said to appear at night and kill people by sucking out their life force (qi), then return to their graves as they fear sunlight, like vampires. They are also similar in how they are countered by a specific type of plant, being the peach tree instead of garlic. Other details are often disputed and vary from source to source.
