Strategy/Usage[]
Raiden is extremely efficient at keeping Red enemies away. Despite his mediocre range, he still outranges threatening Red enemies such as Capy, J.K Bun Bun and Bore, acting almost like a superpowered Pirate Cat. Also like Pirate Cat, Raiden might cause more harm than good if there are backliners, especially ones that aren't Red.
Raiden is a decent generalist, but definitely not the best.
True Form[]
In True Form, Raiden gains the Strong Against ability, more range and more health, improving his usability by a decent margin. Raiden's range increases from 385 to 415, so it's worth the evolution as it gives Raiden slightly more survivability and the ability to outrange threats like Le'boin, increasing his usage in mid-game and some parts of late-game. The biggest improvement of all is his Strong ability, giving a level 30 God-Emperor Raiden 108.8k health and 46.3k attack power (10.7k DPS) against Reds if all Blood Fruit Treasures have been maxed. It's certainly not game-changing, but the improvement is worth the Catfruit it costs.
Talents[]
God-Emperor Raiden's Talents can truly make him a god on certain stages with Red enemies. Starting off strong with the Dodge ability, this is definitely his most effective Talent at a solid 30% chance for up to 2 seconds, greatly improving his survivability, which is crucial with his 2-minute recharge. The reason it works is primarily due to Raiden's health pool, allowing the Dodge ability to feel more impactful overall.
Resist Freeze is not a super helpful Talent and isn't recommended. While Defense Buff and Attack Buff help him out both as a generalist and a specialist, it is recommended to use Catseyes first and then get these, but only if you have a surplus of NP.
Immune to Knockback is a bit finicky, as it can help his matchup with Red EnerG, and certainly shows good results in that category in particular, but you shouldn't go for it unless you really struggle with Red EnerG and need a full-blown counter.
Ultra Talents[]
Immune to Slow is Raiden's most self-explanatory talent. It enables him to counter Professor A., although not much more. This isn't a very drastic buff, but it's a nice extra bonus to get alongside his other Talents.
Immune to Surge is a very nice addition for Raiden. Not only does this make his matchup with Red EnerG even better, as well as making him a bit more flexible in the presence of Raynard, but it also makes him viable as an anti-Surge unit, which gives him more usage overall. While there may be some better units for the job that don't require such a heavy investment, Raiden is still strong as an anti-Surge either way, and is especially good if you don't have said units.
Just like his Surge immunity, Behemoth Slayer is another Talent that helps to expand Raiden's palette. He has 13.5k DPS at level 60 with the Attack Buff Talent, and adding this Talent on top of it gives him a whopping 33k DPS against Behemoths. With these stats in hand, Raiden can counter most lower-ranged behemoths very well, and can serve as an integral part of your behemoth lineup. Infernal Pegasus Deonil is his best matchup, where he can score well over 50k DPS and hold a ton of health. This is important, as it allows him to not lose relevance to Courier Cat, who sometimes struggles to deal with Deonil. Raiden's only weakness in this category is a lack of range, but he's still tanky enough to make use of this ability.
Overall, these Talents add even more utility to an already well-utilized Uber, even if these investments are far from the most broken that Ultra Talents have to offer.

- Evolved Form: Larger and looks more deadly. He also slightly has more color in black and white, with symbols on shoulder pads. The Cat has taken on a more Crazed expression. Attack animation remains the same.
- True Form: Even larger, with large spikes coming out of wings. Larger machine guns, that are black, and shoulder pads are glowing orangey-yellow. Same glow emitting from wings, and tail, which has morphed into a large glowing black laser. Large spikes everywhere, especially on his face, which has a glow emitting from it. The attack animation replaces the yellow bullet streams with orangish-red ones.

Trivia[]
- Raiden (雷電) is a Japanese word meaning "thunder and lightning".
- Since several of the other Dragon Emperors appear to have been named after video games, this unit may be referencing the vertical shoot 'em up arcade game Raiden.
- His Behemoth Slayer Ultra Talent, added in the same update as Ensanglion the Calamity, may imply that Raiden was built specifically to fight Ensanglion in the event of his return. Further supporting this is that Raiden, Ganglion and Ensanglion are all described as ancient in BCJP.
- As a mechanical Anti Cat Dragon weapon, Raiden is one of the two Dragon Emperors units not to be a dragon. The other is Vars, a knight riding an unnamed dragon.
