Sage of Mind Soractes (論の賢者ソラクティス, Ron no Kenja Sorakutisu, Sage of Theories Soractis) is a Floating/Sage enemy that appears in Zero Legends. He is the enemy version of Master of Mind Soractes.

Enemy

A relentless pusher akin to Super Hyppoh, Soractes' deadly combination of rapid, high-damage Omni Strike attacks and fast speed can invade your frontline in seconds if not stalled properly. Furthermore, being a Sage enemy, all debuffs against him will be greatly resisted unless the debuffer happens to be a Sage Slayer, so brute force will often be the way to go.

Trivia

• Soractes' name may be a portmanteau of 空 sora (sky/the air, correlating with his Floating trait) and Socrates, an ancient Greek philosopher. While Soractes' Japanese name is written in katakana, the kanji 空 can also be read as kara or kū, meaning emptiness or the void/aether element in godai, a set of five elements in Japanese Buddhist philosophy.
  • Continuing with the topic of philosophy, his pose is seemingly based on the famous 20th century sculpture of The Thinker, or on this statue of Socrates.
  • In real life, Socrates was known to have had an upturned nose and bulging eyes, yet Soractes ironically has neither.
  • Soractes' seemingly empty head may allude to "I know that I know nothing," a famous saying widely attributed to Socrates.
    • This saying is directly referenced in Master of Mind Catcrates' Korean description, which states that all he knows about cats is that he knows nothing about them.
