Strategy/Usage[]
Sea Maiden Ruri is a surprisingly underwhelming unit. Despite being able to achieve massive health over Red enemies, Single Attack gets in the way of her severely. Her Multi-Hit can partially relieve this issue, but then her range comes in. All three combined usually end up making her hit a unit on one hit, but not the others, drastically lowering her great DPS.
Use her primarily for tanky Red enemies like Bore, better if they lack knockbacks. Her weaken uptime is surprisingly good, lasting for 5 seconds and 6.67 seconds in her True Form. Her Multi-Hit increases her weaken chance too. Additionally, her combo enhances the resistant ability, further increasing her effective HP if you use her correctly.
For generalist usage, it's best not to bother. Only use her for a bit of extra padding in stages where you have no better alternatives.
True Form[]
Mer-Queen Ruri gets significantly expanded DPS and health, and that's pretty much it. Nothing is solved, she can just make up for her weaknesses better. Her DPS is even better than before, but Single Target and Multi-Hit bring it down massively as always. Against singular bosses, she's even better than ever, but that's still the only place you'll be able to use her to her full potential.
Talents[]
The basic stat boosts can help make her already great stats even better, though you'd need some Catseye investment beforehand.
Slow Resist allows Ruri to not get affected as much by the few slowing enemies she may run into (the only relevant target is Professor A.), but it doesn't help her all that much.
Relic targeting and Curse Immunity gives her usage in Uncanny Legends against the various relics encountered, putting her abilities to good use as Relics are notorious for having several nasty threats that are difficult to approach, namely Othom. Hilariously, she serves as a great wall against Zero Luza, of all enemies once both Curse Immunity and Target Relic are unlocked, since her weaken helps massively once Zero Luza is strengthened.
Ultra Talents[]
Mer-Queen Ruri's Dodge talent is without question the best Ultra Talent she gets. Relic and Red enemies have a good number of enemies that attack rather quickly. Combined with her 2 second dodge duration per activation, and she will be dodging a lot of attacks. This fact is stressed out even more since she has Resistant to and Weaken against both traits, making her both able to dodge frequently as well as being very tanky even without the dodge.
Immune to Freeze isn't particularly useful since there are only two Red enemies and two Relic enemies in the game that utilize Freeze, one being a Collab unit, two being Bosses, and the other an enemy that simply doesn't appear too often, and has better answers that Mer-Queen Ruri anyways.
Movement Speed Up is also not particularly useful since she is meant to be a mid-ranged tank, and hence, movement sped isn't particularly useful if she isn't going to be directly in the enemies face. At best, she can now get to the battlefield a good bit faster, which isn't worth the NP at that point.

Appearance[]
- Normal Form: A mermaid wearing a shirt with an image of a Cat on it and swirly glasses/goggles with pigtails. She sits on top of a clamshell with an assortment of items behind her, such as discs, a handheld console, books, and seaweed. There are three Cats surrounding the clam shell, also wearing glasses or goggles. They all seem to be in crab shells.
- Evolved Form: The mermaid has traded her tail for new legs. The tail's shed skin still remains, now hanging off of said legs. The shirt is gone and is replaced with a flowy coat of sorts. The unit is now in full color, and has also lost her glasses. The clamshell is now open, exposing the pearl and many other gold jewelry. The Cats floating around the mermaid now have starfish by their ears. One Cat's shell has cracked showing some tentacles.
- True Form: The mermaid's dress is now more flowy. She is more colorful than before. The shells the Cats are on are now yellow and the clamshell is now even more open and adorned with yellow. She also loses the last remnant of her tail, showing off white and gold slippers on her unnatural feet.

Trivia[]
- The word "NEET" in her description is an acronym meaning "Not in Employment, Education or Training".
- Ruri is one of the first units to attack more than once during their attack animation, in her case the third hit does the most damage.
- Mer-Queen Ruri's design is likely a reference to Princess Shirahoshi from One Piece.
