Strategy/Usage
Able to communicate with the supernatural, this cat has a great ability, which is to be able to freeze Floating enemies, and a good chance when stacked. Due to his somewhat short range in his 1st and 2nd forms, it may be difficult to use him properly against many Floating enemies with a longer range.
His best targets include Shy Boy, most Teacher Bun Bun variants, Red Cyclone, Black Cyclone and White Cyclone.
Aside from his anti-Floating abilities, Necromancer Cat is included in the Bony Bone Cat Combo, which can be combined with Biohazard for a research power boost, which great helps for units like Ramen Cat and Cameraman Cat.
True Form
Necro-Dancer Cat has a much better range, increasing the distance between him and the enemies, thereby making him easier to stack. Sadly, he is still outranged by many Floating enemies, like Owlbrow and Mooth, which means that this shouldn't be your go-to cat when facing Floating enemies, but he is still helpful.
Since he only has a 20% chance to freeze Floating enemies and single target, one or two Necro-Dancer Cats should never be relied on as your only defense against them; instead stack more, like 6~8 as then they will be much more reliable. When provided support from other anti-Floating Cats like Octopus Cat, Sanzo Cat and Cameraman Cat, Necro-Dancer may be able to be the final nail in the coffin for them, completely freezing Floating enemies when stacked enough. This is notable in the fight against Mecha-Bun in Eldritch Forces, as he outranges Mecha-Bun's Omni Strike by 60 and and can completely paralyze it.
Talents
His Wave Attack Talents give him a pseudo-Area Attack and enables him to reach Owlbrow and Mooth variants behind the frontlines. Since the Freeze and Wave Attack abilities each have a separate, small chance to activate, the probability of both abilities triggering on a single attack (resulting in a freezing wave) is a mere 6%, meaning that a massive stack is needed to make full use of this Talent. Because of this, Sanzo Cat is still usually the better option against groups of Floating enemies; but as before, when stacked enough to create consistent waves, Necro-Dancer may even outperform Sanzo.
His Immune to Toxic talent allows him to become a counter for Gobble, which is important for late-game players, although his low health makes it less effective than Riceball with the same talent, in that case. Other talents do not improve this unit in any relevant way, so they should be avoided.
Orb
The only orb with any effect would be health up vs Floating, as it may allow this Cat to take one more hit from certain sources. Still, the limited need for this cat, combined with the low health, makes using an orb on him hardly worth it.
