Shy Boy (赤羅我王, Akara Gaō, Gaō Akara) is a Red/Floating enemy that appears in Into the Future, Cats of the Cosmos, The Aku Realms, and Legend Stages.
Enemy[]
Despite looking similar, Shy Boy is almost entirely different from The Face. He moves at forty times the speed and attacks rapidly, but with less than half the range. He is only around 1/3 as tough compared to The Face, yet dishes out more DPS. Furthermore, his high strength magnifications make him an annoying enemy later in the game. He also has a surprisingly high money drop making it worthwhile to rush him down, especially in stages like Volcanic Defender where he appears early.
Strategy[]
You can exploit his dual-trait weakness with anti-Red or anti-Floating attackers that are well rounded in health and attack power. Examples are Whale Cat, Crazed Whale Cat, Cameraman Cat and Swimmer Cat. Due to his high money drop, you shouldn't hesitate spending a lot of your budget to defeat him.
Shy Boy is also very vulnerable to status effects like slow and freeze, as due to his short range, he barely does anything without his speed advantage. This means that Bishop Cat, Hip Hop Cat and Witch Cat can get the job done just fine.

- His Japanese name, Akara Gaō (赤羅我王), or Gaō Akara as it would be in languages where surnames come second, is a pun on the word akaragao (赤ら顔), meaning "reddened face". It's made to sound more like a proper name by being spelled using only kanji, specifically the ones for "red" (赤), "lightweight fabric" (羅), "ego" or "self-assertion" (我) and "king" (王). Gaō (我王) is also a pun on kao (顔), meaning "face".
- He is the first enemy to have multiple traits.
- He has a lower ID than The Face despite appearing later.
- Shyboy from The Burgle Cats is a direct reference to him, having the same name and a similar appearance.
