Strategy/Usage[]
Essentially Kotatsu Cat for Red enemies, this cat is very useful to stop the advancement of Bore, One Horn, Shy Boy and other Red enemies, as it can soak up damage from them while simultaneously weakening them. Use Sushi Cat on stages with lots of Red enemies for a tactical advantage.
Sushi Cat can even be used to great effect against Two Can and Berserkory, as many stages feature these enemies almost by themselves, so it's possible to tank them with this near-immovable wall. Do note that when these enemies are brought along as support, having a tough defensive unit will only cause them to miss attacks less often, which can be a problem if there are units without any type of wave resistance. Another thing that improves it is its range, or lack thereof, allowing it to protect nearly all DPS units, even rushers like Awakened Bahamut Cat and Wargod Yukimura.
This cat is used in specific Cat Combos such as Cool Japan and Bento Special. Cool Japan will grant your units a 15% attack power buff, and Bento Special will grant you 500¢ at the beginning of a stage. With these 2 Combos combined, your units can be much more powerful and turn the battle in your favor. Since Sushi is a part of each of these Combos, bringing them both to Red stages such as Growing Red or Boiling Spring will provide you a great advantage over your enemies.
It forms a great synergy with iCat, in which one stalls the enemies while the other freezes them.
True Form[]
Roe Cat has a truly massive health pool, reaching an impressive 300k health against Reds just at level 30 (effectively over 600k with weaken)! This may seem high, but that's a necessity if this Cat wishes to stay relevant later on, which is definitely the case. Roe can and should be used in any stage that features exclusively Red enemies, at least in a specific wave or as the only relevant threat, but its use is greatly lowered when it has a chance of receiving plenty of hits from non-Reds. Even then, Roe is able to be a decent generalist tanker, provided you have plus levels.
Roe Cat also benefits greatly from boost, as a level 50 Roe can reach over 1 million health against weakened reds.
Talents[]
Roe was always somewhat expensive, despite being worth its cost most of the time. Its Cost Down Talent reduces its cost by more than a third, but it is recommended to keep it at level 5 due to certain Restrictions. With Defense Buff, Roe Cat is also made way more viable by improving its health even further, making it not only worth bringing in far more Red-heavy stages, but even in many other stages too, acting as a more spammable, but weaker Zamboney Cat. Attack Buff, Resist Slow and Resist Freeze are situational and likely not worth the NP.
Orb[]
Tough Effect Up: Red is your best bet. Defense Up is also a good idea if you don’t have it.

Trivia[]
- Prior to Version 4.7, Sushi Cat was a part of two other Cat Combos: Grocery Cart and Triggermen.
- The Fried Shrimp Cat with sunglasses resembles Nao Baba's persona in the rock band Kishidan, Sho Ayanokoji, while the Roe Cat with sunglasses looks somewhat like one of his other personas, DJ Ozma.
- Fried Shrimp Cat's Japanese name, Regent Cat, does not refer to monarchy, but rather the pompadours stereotypically worn by delinquents, which is also known as the Regent style.
- Roe Cat's Japanese description includes a pun on "イクラ". In the context of the sentence, it can mean that Roe Cat is willing to be anyone's opponent as many times as they want if they become an enemy. However, another possible meaning of the word is salmon roe, which is on Roe Cat's heads.
