Strategy/Usage[]
Swordsman Cat acts as a stronger, more aggressive Axe Cat. He is cheap, easily stackable and a group of them can shred Red enemies making up for his Single Target weakness. Unlike Dark Cat and Island Cat, Swordsman Cat can outrange Shy Boy, so with good meatshielding, a stack of them will be able to shred them apart with little trouble. This cat is exceptional in stages with almost only Red enemies, such as Crimson Catastrophe, Red Alert and Floor 21. Beginners will find him very useful for some nasty reds like Bore and One Horn.
True Form[]
Elemental Duelist Cat is surprisingly powerful against Red enemies, even when compared to the likes of Island Cat, doing a lot more damage at the cost of durability. He is a huge help against common yet dangerous short-ranged Red enemies, like Bore and Shy Boy, being able to annihilate them in a matter of seconds, assuming that units can buy those precious seconds. Finally, his extra bulk allows him to survive some powerful attacks and live to fight for longer. Note that area attackers like Courier Cat or even Cameraman Cat will prove a safer bet against groups of tough enemies, with Courier often outshining Elemental Duelist for reds, the only caveat being the likes of One Horn who can get inside Courier's blindspot easily.
Talents[]
With "Target Angel", Elemental Duelist Cat becomes a good finisher for frozen or weakened angels, but little more due to his limited range, making this talent not highly recommended due to the bad matchup, not to mention the existence of Mushroom Cat, who is much more consistent at warding off short-ranged angels due to its higher range. The Attack Buff, Defense Buff, and Recovery Speed Up talents are all straight-forward: if your Duelist is properly high-level, he can be further empowered so he may kill off the odd, bulky red enemy even faster. Resist Weaken is something that will rarely come into play. Only upgrade this if a specific situation requires it.
Orb[]
Massive damage to reds is the obvious choice. Health up against them or angels can also have worth, as surviving a hit can result in a lot of bonus damage, not to mention the potential of tanking a hit from something like Angelic Gory and gaining the ability to hit it in the first place.

Trivia[]
- Elemental Duelist Cat bears a striking resemblance to a Xenoblade character who also has a similar monocle-like attachment.
- He could also be based off Lloyd Irving from the "certain game" Tales of Symphonia. Both have a similar hairstyle and Elemental Duelist Cat has Lloyd's signature dual swords, one blue (in his right hand) and one red (in his left).
