Tackey has low health and few knockbacks for a Black enemy, but its Long Distance attacks can be a handful. It has a moderate attack speed and identical standing range as Dragon Cat, but its attacks hit from 600-850, resulting in a small effective hit area and a large blindspot.
Strategy[]
Defeating Tackey on its own isn't too much of an issue. However, this enemy exists to support melee attackers; its effective range will push back/damage your Cats greatly while they're fighting the melee enemies, hitting your backliners and midrangers. Even with low accuracy, Tackey can greatly damage your cats. However, Tackey has a large blindspot, so if a close-ranged cat (e.g. Jamiera Cat, Awakened Bahamut, etc.) makes its way in, they can deal damage to Tackey unharmed. Tackey thus also serves as an anti-backliner.
A ruthless semi-pro pitcher who resorts to any means necessary to win the game. Throws non-regulation balls from long distance to intimidate the away team batters.
A ruthless bullpen pitcher who's trying to fulfill their childhood friend's dream in place of their deceased younger brother. A game set for both teams, with deadly curveballs thrown from long distance.
A Red fire-breathing variant of Tackey. It has higher health, greater effective range and deals extreme damage but has a slower attack rate and a massive blindspot.
An Aku variant of Tackey. It has higher damage, slightly higher range, Multi-hit and a shield that's much more durable than himself. During its attack animation, it shoots a dodecahedron that causes three explosions, each having a 30% chance to freeze Cats for 2 seconds.

Trivia[]
Tackey may specifically be based on the estuary seahorse, whose Japanese name, 黒海馬 kuroumiuma, literally translates to "black seahorse".
Tackey's Japanese name, Tatchan, is a reference to the baseball manga Touch (or Tatchi in Japanese).
"Tatchan" or "Tat-chan" can also be an affectionate nickname for Tatsuya Uesugi, the main protagonist of the story.
The first line of Tackey's Japanese description is an exact mirror of Tatsuya's role in Touch: after his younger brother Kazuya dies in a traffic accident, he takes over for him and fulfills his childhood friend Minami's dream in Kazuya's stead.
Tatsuya is referenced by a seahorse enemy because the Japanese word for seahorse is tatsuno otoshigo.
Ironically, Tackey's projectile is of higher resolution than the enemy itself.
Tackey and its variants all reference baseball manga with their Japanese names and descriptions.
