Shining Amaterasu is an Uber Rare Cat that can be unlocked by rolling the Rare Cat Capsule during The Almighties The Majestic Zeus event. True Form added in Version 9.10 increases her attack power. Talents were also added in Version 9.10.

Strategy/Usage

Amaterasu is an offensive unit against enemies with traits. Keep her well protected behind meatshields and watch her deal enormous damage to most traited enemies. She is both a good unit for newer players and later players, due to her typing.

If you have nothing better, don't be shy to use her on Traitless enemies like THE SLOTH or Master A. as she may deal lower damage compared to other choices, but she is capable of outranging them. While most generalists lose use later in the game (Thunder God Zeus, for example), as they do not perform as well as units specified for certain traits, this doesn't apply to Amaterasu, as she still shines throughout Stories of Legend, and well into later Uncanny Legends, as she is one of the few anti-Relic Cats who doesn't require Elder Catfruit or NP. This is somewhat countered by the fact she needs an Epic Catfruit seed and she does not have curse immune/resist talents, but you won't be grinding nearly as much.

True Form

Almighty Amaterasu gains a considerable attack boost, which is more than enough to justify this evolution, despite being a very simple upgrade. It brings her on par with some trait-specific attackers, despite the fact that she targets all traits.

Talents

Survive is not that necessary, but her DPS is enough to excuse that and make it worth the NP.

Barrier Breaker has two main purposes: allowing her to break Ultra Baa Baa's and Youcan's barriers or to avoid having to hit enemies with weak barriers twice. If you only care about being able to break otherwise unbreakable barriers, then it is recommended to only unlock the first level of this talent. Maxing it does result in shielded Aliens falling faster, but you often have cheaper options that wouldn't require such investment.

Zombie Killer, on the other hand, is an amazing Talent for Amaterasu, as it cuts the time she needs to get rid of zombies, but also removes the risk of them reviving in a nasty spot and, in some cases, allows her to have an effect in the first place, as some Zombies have infinite revives and can't be simply shut down by brute force.

However, Amaterasu relies heavily on her stats, so the stat boosts are also of high priority, though boosting with Catseyes first is recommended. Amaterasu at lvl 50 with max talents has a whopping 26,851 DPS vs Traited enemies, shredding them with terrifying ease.

Appearance

• Normal Form: A goddess floating in the air surrounded by decorated golden pieces. She is wearing flowing garments of white clothing which are held by the metal floating around her and fail to cover her body from above her knees to below her breasts. The mirror floating below her is hidden by clouds and looks like a face with closed eyes. In between the eyes is the Basic Cat's face. Above her are more floating gold pieces.
• Evolved Form: Basically the same, but more detailed and her mirror is more decorated.
• True Form: Still the same, but now she's accompanied by a white fairy with gold wings and a wand. Also, above her there is a flat circle surrounded by butterflies with a golden flower and cherry in its center.

• The divine mirror "Yata no Kagami" refers to one piece of the Imperial Regalia of Japan, a set of three national treasures linked to state Shintō and the royal family and steeped in legend. These same three treasures (a mirror, a sword, and a jewel) pop up repeatedly in Japanese games across all genres. The real-life mirror of the set is believed to be housed in the Ise Grand Shrine, Japan's primary shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. And in case you were wondering, no, visitors cannot see it.
