Teacher Cybear (メタックマ Metakkuma, Metabear) is a Metal variant of Teacher Bear that appears in Event Stages.

Enemy

Teacher Cybear has 600 range with extremely fast, Single Target attacks that do 999,999 damage, though he only has a measly 50 health and just 3 speed to go with.

Strategy

Because of his lethal damage, low health, Metal trait and attack type, the most effective way to take him down is to spam cheap meatshields. Bring units like Cat, Li'l Cat, Crazed Cat, Pumpcat, Awa-Odori Cat, Boogie Cat, or Catburger. The Cat CPU can help with spamming the units as quick as possible.

Otherwise, Metal Cat can be used to sponge up to 12 hits from Cybear, slightly speeding up the fight. Kyubey Cat also works well due to its low cost and 40% chance to survive a lethal strike. Jiangshi Cat could work better as it will always survive, but its high cost (240¢, while most other meatshields are around 75~150¢) often puts it out of the question.

In Hard Restart Lv.7, Teacher Cybear appears with peons, which can be used as stepping stones for Critical Wave/Surge Attackers like Valentine's Neneko and Neo Backhoe Cat.

Trivia

• This enemy has some interesting history, as he was one of the few enemies (the others are Metal Cyclone, CyberFace and Professor A.) to actually be unimplemented for a certain amount of time. After years of rotting away in the game data, Teacher Cybear finally got his due in the Version 8.0 Update.
  • Before he was implemented, Teacher Cybear was a Traitless enemy with 1,000 HP, 80 damage, 150 range, 15 speed, no abilities, no wave effect in his attack animation, and a money drop of 55,000¢ (basically an exact copy of Gory but with a much higher money drop).
• His Japanese description mentions that he was freeloading at The Face's house for 6 years, which is the length of time between the release of Nyanko Daisensou and the release of update 8.0.
  • His Japanese description also implies that Teacher Cybear is wearing an animatronic mascot costume of himself, almost like a Matyroshka doll.
• In the Japanese version, Teacher Cybear is a reference to the San-X character Rilakkuma. He has a similar name (Metakkuma), is described as a mascot costume, and lived rent-free with The Face (named Kaoru-kun in Japanese), referencing how the original Rilakkuma 4koma had the character relaxing in the apartment of an office worker named Kaoru.
  • Based on his color scheme, Teacher Cybear might also represent the white-furred Korilakkuma, whose button suggests that, like Rilakkuma, it isn't an actual bear.
• He has the highest DPS of any character.
• He is tied with the Scarecrow for the third-highest attack power of any character, the second being Filibuster Obstructa, who does 1,000,000 damage, and the first being Metafilibuster, who does 3,000,000 damage.
• Prior to the Version 11.0 Update, Teacher Cybear had 800 range instead of 600, and waited 0 frames between attacks instead of 3.
