Treasure is an important Stage Reward which may be obtained upon clearing one of the main story stages. Each stage has a Treasure named after a memento from the location, though standard icons are used instead of images. Each Treasure exists in up to 3 tiers, which are called Inferior, Normal, and Superior - their icons are colored bronze, silver and gold, respectively.
Completing a regional collection of Treasures gives the player permanent upgrades to many aspects of the game, some of which do not have a counterpart in the XP-purchasable upgrades. Examples include massively increased cat health or attack power, debuffs to Aliens, or improvements to certain abilities. The effect of the boost depends on the quality of the various treasures in that collection. Treasures are a necessity for success.
Most activated Treasure effects are permanent for each player and carried through all stages, the effect then stacks additively with any other Treasure set effects already active or subsequently acquired. The only exception is the Mystery Mask, which affects one chapter's final boss but not the others.
The Cat Unit and Alien enemy stats provided on this wiki are with all Treasures obtained, except when stated otherwise ("initial stats" are what a unit has at level 1 without any Treasures). Abilities, however, are always described without the Fruit Treasures' bonuses.
Obtaining Treasure
Obtaining Treasure is paramount and a key aspect of The Battle Cats that must not be neglected if a player is to make any significant progress in the game.
Treasure is awarded randomly after clearing each of the main story stages, and a small pop-up will indicate whether a Treasure has been obtained in the victory screen. It is possible for any tier of Treasure to drop, however if a player has already obtained a Treasure from a particular stage the game will not award Treasure of lower or equal tier. Players will often have to repeatedly clear a stage until they obtain the Superior Treasure.
The drop rate for Treasures appears to vary depending on the stage. For example, the first stage of Empire of Cats, Korea/Nagasaki, always guarantees a Superior Treasure in Chapter 1, while the seventh stage of Empire of Cats Chapter 1, Japan/Fukuoka, has a high (but not 100%) chance of a Superior Treasure. Using a Treasure Radar will also guarantee a Superior Treasure upon victory. The Treasure Festival event doubles the chance of obtaining Treasure.
The Z-medals awarded from Zombie Outbreaks are different, given only as a Zombie Outbreak clearance stage reward. Thus the player may obtain a stage Treasure and Zombie Outbreak clearance medal at the same time.
Note that having all Zombie Outbreak Medals of a certain Treasure set will increase the Treasure drop rate of all stages involved.
Checking Treasures Obtained
Once the player has obtained a Treasure from a stage, an icon corresponding to the Treasure tier will appear beside the stage name. The name of the Treasure can also be found in the collections screen.
The stage selection screen shows stages from which Treasures have already been obtained - note the gold Treasure icons beside the stage names which mean that the player has obtained the Superior Treasures.
Players can check the Treasures they have already obtained along with the activated Treasure effects if the set is complete, by selecting the Menu icon on the Chapter dashboard then selecting the Treasure option.
Follow the instructions in the images below:
Treasure Festivals
Refer to the Treasure Festival page
Every once in a while, a Treasure Festival will appear, which "doubles" (read: increases) the chances of you acquiring a treasure from a stage. When there is a specific chance for Treasure from a certain location (e.g., Korea/Nagasaki) then pressing the icon will take you directly to that location. There is a calendar of events on the PONOS AWS event calendar page which details not only the days/times of Treasure Festivals for the week but also details other events that pop up throughout the day such as Cat Ticket Stages, Catfruit Buffet, Builder's Blitz Stages, etc.
PONOS Event Calendar - Updates every Monday! This calendar is extremely useful for prioritizing your energy usage and not feeling so defeated while trying to farm Treasures.
These all-stage festivals generally last for an hour and appear randomly throughout the day, but sometimes there is a Monthly Event or SNS promotion that grants a festival for Empire of Cats on odd days of the month and Into the Future on even days of the month (or vice-versa) and will really benefit you if you can line up the timeline with your schedule. Every month on the 22nd is Meow Meow Day, which has a 24-hour Treasure Festival for all of the main story chapters.
Individual Stage Treasure Festivals
There are also Treasure Festivals that pop up for a specific stage, that are chosen randomly and generally only last for 30 minutes. These are not a part of the event Calendar.
- Be aware that the Treasure Festival icon on your map may be hiding a Zombie Outbreak stage, so check thoroughly when it's festival time - you may get a medal and Treasure all at once! You may log in to Empire of Cats Chapter 3 to find that you have a treasure festival on Saudi Arabia/Shimane and completely miss out on the Outbreak stage back at China/Kagoshima.

Treasure Mechanics
The bonus applied from any set of Treasures is only activated upon obtaining all the separate parts of the set. The total activated effect (or power) is then shown as a percentage of the maximum effect possible from that set.
Each Treasure contributes to the set's effectiveness percentage based on its tier.
- Bronze-tier Inferior Treasures award an inferior boost.
- Silver-tier Normal Treasures award a moderate boost.
- Gold-tier Superior Treasures award a superior boost.
To obtain the full 100% power of the Treasure set, the player needs to obtain all the Superior Treasures in the collection.
It's important to understand that when the Treasure set's power percentage reaches 100%, this does not imply that the effect of the Treasure set will increase the relevant stat by 100%. It simply refers to the Treasure set being applied with maximum effect or with 100% power.
The formula for the percentage activation:
% activation = (sum of Treasure tier values)/(3*# of the set's Treasures)
Where Treasure values for Inferior, Normal, Superior are 1, 2, 3 respectively.
Example:
Empire of Cats' Energy Drink requires 7 Treasures to be obtained before its effect is activated.
- If you complete this set, by obtaining
- 1 Inferior Treasure (bronze)
- 5 Normal Treasures (silver)
- 1 Superior Treasure (gold)
Energy Drink | Korea | Mongolia | China | Thailand | Cambodia | Philippines | Japan |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Inferior | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Normal | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
Superior | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
...here, the power percentage of Energy Drink (max. +100% income rate) activated by these Treasures is:
( (1*1) + (5*2) + (1*3) ) / (7*3) = 66.667% shown as 66% in game.
The rate at which Worker Cat produces income is increased by +66%

Details - Anti-unstarred Alien Treasures
- Also refer to the Into the Future Aqua Crystal and Plasma Crystal Treasures.
These Treasure Crystals decrease the initial +700% stat magnification applied to all unstarred Aliens' base health and base attack power as indicated in the Treasure descriptions above.
For example, a hypothetical unstarred Alien has base health and attack power of 1,000, but the default stat magnification applied to Unstarred Alien base stats is +700%, making the enemy's health and damage from each hit 7,000.
Each fully activated Aqua Crystal and Plasma Crystal Treasure set then reduces this +700% default magnification by -100% (additively) such that this example unstarred Alien's base attack power is always 1,000 but the default magnification effect applied to produce the enemy health and damage output is reduced as shown below.
Activated Treasure Effect | Unstarred Alien Base Health / Attack Stat | Unstarred Alien Stat Magnification Applied | Unstarred Alien Effective Health / Attack |
---|---|---|---|
- 0% | 1,000 | + 700% | 7,000 |

Details - Anti-Starred Alien Treasures
- Also refer to the Cats of the Cosmos Stellar Garnet, Phoebe Beryl, Lunar Citrine, Ganymede Topaz and Callisto Amethyst Treasures.
These Treasure Crystals decrease the initial +1,600% stat magnification applied to all Starred Aliens' base health and base attack power as indicated in the descriptions above.
For example, a hypothetical Starred Alien has base health and attack power of 1,000, but the default stat magnification applied to Starred Alien base stats is +1600%, making the enemy health and damage from each hit 16,000.
Each fully activated Stellar Garnet, Phoebe Beryl, Lunar Citrine, Ganymede Topaz and Callisto Amethyst Treasure set reduces the +1600% default magnification by -100% (additively) such that the Starred Alien's base attack power is always 1,000 but the default magnification effect applied to produce the enemy health and damage output is reduced as shown below.
Activated Treasure Effect | Starred Alien Base Health / Attack Stat | Starred Alien Stat Magnification Applied | Starred Alien Effective Health / Attack |
---|---|---|---|
- 0% | 1,000 | + 1,600% | 16,000 |
- 300% |

- 1,200% | 1,000 | + 400% | 4,000 |
- 1,500% | 1,000 | + 100% | 1,000 |
The stat magnification values provided in articles on this wiki are when the player has fully activated all the Anti-Starred Alien Treasures and the -1500% effect is applied.
Details - Fruit Treasures
- Also refer to the Into the Future Void Fruit, Blood Fruit, Sky Fruit and Heaven's Fruit Treasures,
- and Cats of the Cosmos Titanium Fruit, Antimatter Fruit and Enigma Fruit Treasures.
These Treasures affect cats' anti-trait special abilities such as Strong Against, Massive, Resistant, Freeze and Stop.
At 100% on all Treasures, the Strong Against effect goes from 1.5x damage to 1.8x damage, and 0.5x damage received to 0.4x damage received.
The Massive Damage effect goes from 3x damage to 4x damage.
The Insane Damage effect goes from 5x damage to 6x damage.
The Resistant effect goes from 1/4 damage received to 1/5 damage received.
The Insanely Tough effect goes from 1/6 damage received to 1/7 damage received.
The Knockback effect's distance is increased by 20%.
The Freeze and Slow effects are increased in duration by 20%.
Finally, the Weaken effect is increased in duration by 10%.
Dodge Attack and Curse are not known to benefit from these Treasures, and like the abilities which they affect, they do not stack on multi-traited enemies. There still seems to be some uncertainty about what exactly each Fruit Treasure set's effect is alone.
Details - Legendary Cat Shield/Sword
- Also refer to the Empire of Cats Legendary Cat Shield and Legendary Cat Sword Treasures.
The Legendary Cat Shield has an
effect that increases the Initial Health
of cats by a maximum of +50%
The Legendary Cat Sword has an
effect that increases the Initial Attack
of cats by a maximum of +50%
When Legendary Cat Shield (Health) and/or Legendary Cat Sword (Attack Power) have been activated with Superior Treasure, each set's power is 100%, which gives the maximum +50% effect from each.
Since Treasure effects are additive, when each of the three Legendary Cat Shield +50% Health boosts activated are added, it gives the cat's Initial Health stat the maximum +150% boost.
This percentage needs to be expressed as a decimal fraction in order to multiply the Initial stat in the formula above.
Expressed as a decimal fraction 100% = 1.0, 50% = 0.5 etc.
The Initial Stat's base multiplier is therefore always 1.0 ie. Initial Stat x 1.0 = Initial Stat
A maximum Shield or Sword Treasure effect adds + 50% to the relevant Initial Stat. The same as adding + 0.5 to the base multiplier.
Which means the Treasure Bonus multipliers for 0%, 100%, 200% and 300% Legendary Cat Shield are 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 respectively.
Likewise, when each of the three Legendary Cat Sword +50% Attack boosts are activated and added, it gives the cat's Initial Attack stat the maximum +150% boost, or a 2.5 multiplier in the formula above.
Again, it's important to understand that when the Treasure set's power percentage reaches 100%, this does not imply that the effect of the Treasure set will increase the relevant stat by 100%. It simply refers to the Treasure set's own effect being applied at maximum or 100% power. In this case that's 100% of a maximum +50% stat boost.
Example:
The Legendary Cat Shield requires 3 Treasures to be obtained before its effect is activated.
- If you complete the set, by obtaining
- 1 Inferior Treasure (bronze)
- 2 Normal Treasures (silver)
- 0 Superior Treasure (gold)
Legendary Cat Shield | Norway | United Kingdom | Greenland |
---|---|---|---|
Inferior | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Normal | 2 | 2 | 2 |
Gold | 3 | 3 | 3 |
... here, the power percentage of Legendary Cat Shield's (maximum +50% Initial Health) activated by these Treasures is:
( (1*1) + (2*2) + (0*3) ) / (3*3) = 55.55% or +27.77% Initial Health. (as shown but rounded down in-game)
In this example a level 1 Cat with Initial Health of 100 would be treasure boosted by 55% of +50% Health.
The level 1 Cat's new health is now 127.
There are three Empire of Cats chapters each containing a Legendary Cat Shield, so the effect of obtaining each of those three sets at maximum power gives 100%, 200% or 300% Legendary Cat Shield power, that would increase the Initial Health of Cat to 150, 200 or 250 at level 1. (an increase of +50%, +100% or +150%)
All cats and forms have their own initial Health (HP) and Attack (AP) Stats.
for example, Cat's Health at level 1 through to level 8 would be affected as shown below -
Legendary Cat Shield | + 0% | + 100% | + 200% | + 300% |
---|---|---|---|---|
Initial Stat boost | + 0% | + 50% | + 100% | + 150% |
TB Multiplier | x 1.0 | x 1.5 | x 2.0 | x 2.5 |
Level 1 (Initial Stat) | 100 | 150 | 200 | 250 |
Level 2 | 120 | 180 | 240 | 300 |
Level 3 | 140 | 210 | 280 | 350 |
Level 4 | 160 | 240 | 320 | 400 |
Level 5 | 180 | 270 | 360 | 450 |
Level 6 | 200 | 300 | 400 | 500 |
Level 7 | 220 | 330 | 440 | 550 |
Level 8 | 240 | 360 | 480 | 600 |
Increase / Level | + 20 | + 30 | + 40 | + 50 |
Shown here to illustrate the Treasure bonus effect, which applies universally. A level 1 Cat with a 300% Treasure bonus is not possible in-game.
Here's a more powerful illustration, Crazed Titan Cat's Health at level 1 through to level 8 would be affected as shown below -
Legendary Cat Shield | + 0% | + 100% | + 200% | + 300% |
---|---|---|---|---|
Initial Stat boost | + 0% | + 50% | + 100% | + 150% |
TB Multiplier | x 1.0 | x 1.5 | x 2.0 | x 2.5 |
Level 1 (Initial Stat) | 3,600 | 5,400 | 7,200 | 9,000 |
Level 2 | 4,320 | 6,480 | 8,640 | 10,800 |
Level 3 | 5,040 | 7,560 | 10,080 | 12,600 |
Level 4 | 5,760 | 8,640 | 11,520 | 14,400 |
Level 5 | 6,480 | 9,720 | 12,960 | 16,200 |
Level 6 | 7,200 | 10,800 | 14,400 | 18,000 |
Level 7 | 7,920 | 11,880 | 15,840 | 19,800 |
Level 8 | 8,640 | 12,960 | 17,280 | 21,600 |
Increase / Level | + 720 | + 1,080 | + 1,440 | + 1,800 |
What these examples show is just how powerful the Legendary Cat Shield and Legendary Cat Sword Treasure bonuses are on a cat's health and attack power and why it's important to obtain them.
In both of these cases and all others, it shows that any level 1 Cat with the maximum 300% Treasure boost is stronger than the same cat at level 8 with 0% Treasure boost.
Tips
- Treasure set effects when activated are carried over the whole gameplay, so obtaining and maximizing their effect is a vitally important part of the game.
- Do not spend Treasure Radars to obtain Superior Treasure no matter how infuriated you are with the drop rates. It may take a while to get Superior Treasures, but Radars are rare and should not be burned on Treasures. Instead, use your Treasure Radars to obtain various Item Drop Cats or to collect the maximum bonus on XP Megablitz! , XP Colosseum and Merciless XP! stages.
- Treasure Festivals for Cats of the Cosmos are rare, so grind as much as you can when one appears.
Trivia
- The Mystery Mask is the only Treasure that has no effect outside the chapter from which it's obtained.
